Whole Earth Bistro
White Swan Shopping Court, 10 White Swan Ct, MonmouthWe popped into this little Thai restaurant rather spontaneously after an evening at the nearby theatre — and we’re so glad we did. Tucked away down a cobbled side street in Monmouth, it truly feels like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and friendly, creating a relaxed, wholesome atmosphere and it’s BYO with £3 corkage or £2 per can (worth knowing- ice land nearby! Ha!) that instantly put us at ease.
The food has a wonderfully authentic, home-cooked feel — comforting, fresh, and full of flavour. We started with prawn crackers, which were superb, and then shared a variety of stir fries with different proteins. The prawns were incredibly juicy, the tofu perfectly cooked, and everything tasted fresh and high quality. The Stir Fry Pad Ga Pow is an absolute must-try if you enjoy a bit of heat — I asked for mine extra spicy and the chef happily accommodated.
We also ordered egg fried noodles and fragrant jasmine rice, both light yet satisfying. We didn’t feel overly full — just comfortably content. Service was warm and genuine, with Prae proving to be an energetic and bubbly host.
Cearly popular for takeaway too. If you’re looking for authentic Thai food with heart and flavour, this place is an excellent choice. Only open Thurs, Fri, Sat.

36 Monnow St, MonmouthHad a delicious meal here tonight with my partner. Everything was spot on, I had the BBQ burnt ends classic. We had initially planned to go to a pub in Symonds Yat but couldn’t find the car park so drove over the border to Monmouth. We had a warm welcome and the whole experience lifted my mood so much. All of the consistency that you would hope for from a chain, hot delicious food. I’ll leave it at that. It was dark but Monmouth looked really nice so I hope we return in future.

Coffee#1 Monmouth
The Oldway Centre, 8, Monnow St, MonmouthMy father who is 78 goes in for his coffee everyday to which he thoroughly looks forward to. The other day unbeknown to him, he lost his wallet. Later on that day the cafe phoned him to say they had found the wallet outside and it was now safe and sound with them, ready for him to collect. Very professional, honest and kind staff.

Indian Summer
MonmouthI have a child with a milk allergy, so we rang to see if this was an option. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate. They had gone out of their way to get plant based products and adapt the dish for us, within a short period of us ordering and collecting. And it tasted really yummy.
Many thanks to you all, I would highly recommend this place and we will be ordering from there again

Never in my life have a see someone command the bar and the masses so effortlessly, truly a marvel to behold, absolute masterclass in session, she most certainly made our trip worthwhile and i cannot sing her praises high enough!!!
