20 Green End, Braughing, WareI went here with my friend and his little spaniel. And all I can say is the food and service was absolutely amazing. My friend is an older man who don’t eat massive portions and they do small plates now.
We had the nachos to share as a starter, and that was a nice size to have and was well cooked and I could tell it had not been microwaved to melt the cheese.
He had the small plate cod and that was served with in season vegetables and baby potatoes. He knows what he likes and everything he enjoyed. It was piping hot.
For my main I had the millionaire steak sandwich, and I asked if I could have the Bernese sauce that was on the specials board. And I’m not even joking, the fillet steak was cooked amazingly and the chips was hand cut skin on hand cut chunked crispy chips. The coleslaw was amazing as well the dressing on the salad. The toasted bread was perfect. Best meal I’ve had in over a year.

The Bell Standon
4 High St, Standon, WareQuintessential English town feel. Welcomed like family and can see how this is a pillar of the community. Great add on with a fish and chip food truck available outside whilst we visited. Would love to come back again next travels.
