Came in over Christmas with family and was surprised at how big this pub was! It goes way back with lots of intricate little cubby holes. Paul looked after us and he was ever so charming and helpful. He had the whole table laughing. It’s nice when someone looks after you and actually takes the time to stop and chat rather than just trying to get the process over and done with as quickly as possible and move onto the next patrons. Went here twice on a two day break in between Xmas and New year...had a couple of drinks first day and food the next...lovely food and great staff...lovely old pub.was extremely busy at this period and would suggest ordering food at the start of the service time.there is also garden at the rear.

After a nice day out visiting Canterbury we found this delightful pub for an evening meal before heading home to London. Maise was a great help and very cheerful. Thank you for the hopitality, we will return one day.
