Popped in after a long walk, before getting a bus for return journey. Great atmosphere in this ancient pub of outstanding character.Friendly staff and locals, roaring fire to warm by. Well worth the visit.
Really old traditional pub with beams and large wooden entrance door, could do with a tidy up looks worn out. Friendly landlady and people ok, bar staff not much to say really just regulars in there I think. Will let you take your dog in and very good prices for drinks but no food.

Had a couple down here with me sister and co but i live in Dublin. I.tried a Guinness, which i rarely bother doing in Uk because i usually drink my Guinness in The Hut in Phibsboro (out of this world Guinness) but this pint was.... wait for it.... one of the best pints of the black stuff this side of the pond that I have tried. Well done Hogarth. I'm impressed.
