We had lunch here yesterday - we both went for the special Tuesday steak deal with a glass of wine - I have to say it was absolutely superb. Presentation is very nice and staff cant do enough for you. Ambient, pleasant surroundings and just really great food. A grand looking hotel large and would imagine bustling in it's day. We went for dinner and found the food of a reasonable standard, good service and friendly. The let down was that the drinks were expensive a pint of Coors and large glass of white wine £10. I would go again and you should give it a try.

There were 11 of us so we pre-ordered our meal from the usual menu. The service was rapid and smooth making us feel welcome. Dishes were removed only when everyone had finished their course and any special wishes were dealt with swiftly and without fuss. The chef is new but all our courses were tasty, well prepared and hot. The chips were exceptional. One of us had the butternut squash risotto, which the guest found okay but rather too much liquid. All in all can recommend.
