As our ferry to the IOM was cancelled 2 hours into our 4 journey to Heysham and we had our family dog with us, we needed a dog friendly place to stay close to the port really late at night. We were meant to stay at the hotel on our RETURN from the Isle of Man (that ferry was cancelled too) so I knew the owner’s number to see if there was availability. Stunning rooms with a spectacular view, it's in a great location the bar is nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and good value for money.

Been into the Royal previously for cocktails, however came in today for food, the menu had plenty of options & good pricing. The food itself was very enjoyable. The staff could not of been more friendly & accommodating. Will happily be returning & recommending for food
