Anyone who loves traditional pubs shouldn't miss the opportunity to visit this wonderful pub. Traditional barely begins to describe this time capsule. Great real ales, lovely publicans, will be going back, well worth the drive out.Visited again today 15th Aug, absolutely fantastic, such a welcoming couple, fantastic unspoilt surroundings and a wonderful pint of Bass. Trad pub lovers really need to try this wonderful pub.
Great management & staff - can't do enough to make you welcome. Wish it was nearer home (Warrington), it would become my local. A proper traditional pub, a dying breed unfortunately!

It was good to revisit the Boat again last week. When we arrived we received an immediate friendly welcome from the Landlord … with 3 cask beers on offer we opted for the draught Bass which proved to be in excellent condition.The pub was spotlessly clean, well heated (roaring log burner) and had the feel of a proper friendly local! We will return soon …
