I cone here to chill amd relax and the food is excellent, well priced all home made gastro pub style, but with traditional hearty portions of the old school. The pie was just jam packed with meat, intense flavour like your mum would make with love, this place is brilliant well done to the owners

1 Lords Ln, Barrow-upon-HumberFew beers on a Sunday with good friends. Nice decor, friendly atmosphere. Dog and kid friendly and footy on the big screen! What's not to like. The Village is much better off having a second pub. ?

Oriental Star
Turners Bldg, 1 Barrow Rd, New Holland, Barrow-upon-HumberAbsolutely amazing food!! The sweet and sour chicken is to die for and the chips are cooked to perfection, soft crispy and not too chunky. The staff are so assertive and kind. would recommend this Chinese to anyone and everyone, defiantly become our favourite in the area!

Golden Dragon
High St, Barrow-upon-HumberUpdate: I tried the sweet and sour chicken balls again since my review )and their reply that they’d improve them), but they haven’t improved much. They’re still very stodgy with batter that’s too thick and not cooked properly. My advice to the Golden Dragon chef; try the sweet and sour chicken in batter from Sunflower Take Away in Barton. That’s how they’re meant to be done.
I’ve used Golden Dragon many, many times, and it’s by far the best Chinese food in the area. I’ve tried a few in Barton upon Humber which is only 10 minutes away from Barrow upon Humber, but Golden Dragon is better than those.
Portion sizes are great, the food is good quality, and they will cook it as you require (less spicy, chips more crispy, no extra MSG etc). The egg fried rice is especially good.
The only improvement I’d like to see is that the batter for the Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls is overly thick and isn’t fried all the way through, so inside it’s still stodgy and heavy. The batter should be light. Other Chinese places I’ve used in Barton cook it all the way through, as it should be.
Other than that, I can thoroughly recommend Golden Dragon.

The New Goxhill Chippy
9 Howe Ln, Goxhill, Barrow-upon-HumberFirst time using this chippy, do gluten free fish and chips plus gluten free fishcakes plus a full menu, great prices the lady serving is very polite and efficient, food also very good, we will be back ?

Barrow Pizza Fish & Chips
30 High St, Barrow-upon-HumberNice chippy and pizza place combo although not had pizza here yet. Cash only although didn't see any signs up stating this so don't get caught out wanting to pay on card then having to go look for a cash machine when your orders ready to pay for.
