Spent an evening here for a birthday. The food was great and the portion sizes very large, so tomorrow’s lunch is sorted. The food was quick and then menu was more than ample for you to find something you like. \nThe only thing that let us down this time was the restaurant was empty so the atmosphere was flat and the service was a little light.

Called in today for some food at lunchtime before going to the Theatre Royal and we are so glad we did. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and they made a table available for us as they were busy. The atmosphere was nice and chilled and it is like stepping back in time which we really like. My wife had the High Tea and I had the Ham, Eggs and Chips and we can honestly say the food was simply delicious. Mine was cooked fresh and there was plenty on the plate and my wife loved her High Tea and we both passed on our compliments to the staff. Their pricing is very reasonable and there is a great choice of food and specials available. Honestly we had great food here and would recommend anyone to pay them a visit and try Lilys. And for the record, we cannot wait to come back and eat here again - better than a lot of the chains out there!???

We decided to visit here tonight for a little treat, first time we have been, it was beautiful, the decor is lovely and the staff are very friendly and attentive, we were seated straight away and had our poppadoms and drinks within 5 minutes, we very much enjoyed our meal, my son especially enjoying the masala sauce as requested without meat, very happily accomidated. The bread was warm and the Currys were hot and delicious, the boys especially loved the little touch of the frozen ice in a glass making the effect of steam all over the table, very joyful. We are definitely going to go again.

We got seated straight away, I believe it was the manager made sure to seat us in a quiet corner with a nice view of the reservoir and got our drinks fast, asked about allergies and directed us to the carvery, the chef was bubbly, talkative and humorous and the food was stocked up with all the meats and vegetables. The mash was the best I’ve had from a Toby carvery in a long while which was pleasantly enjoyable. We got a ‘goodbye, see you again’ as we walked out back to our car.

I’m very fussy about pizza but needs must when you’re hungry. I ordered the American Hot Pizza, Garlic Cheese Pizza and fries. My order said it would be at least an hour however it arrived sooner than that. I was concerned that I’d just got a ‘keep warm’ pizza. I was worrying too much. The pizza was hot, well cooked and very tasty as was the garlic cheese pizza. The fries were hot and crisp.
I’ll DEFINITELY be using Diego’s again. A very enjoyable meal!

I feel bad for waiting so long to write this... after visiting on a whim with friends, I don't think I would want to go anywhere else to eat. The staff are amazing, we literally had our meals designed for us based on what flavours we liked by the amazing chef. The staff were so knowledgeable about the food they could offer, everything had a story and they made you feel like nothing was too much trouble. For anyone suggesting the wait time was too long, this isn't Mc Donald's, all food seems to be cooked from fresh and tastes incredible. If you want immediate feeding go to KFC, this is a quality restaurant and that takes time! The wait, which isnt an issue, is so worth it. Have a bottle of wine and a chat and you will be eating before you know it. My food was so delicious, so tasty and well prepared I just couldn't believe I was in St Helens. There is not one bad thing I can say. Very few tables so you feel looked after, and like you are lucky to be there. Just try it, you will not be disappointed, and the value for money is outrageous! You will be gutted your stomach cant hold more! AMAZING!!!!

It's got better over the past 6 months. We actually stopped coming here for over a year as the quality and availability had gone downhill consistently. Props to them though, our last 3 visits, the food has been good, no long waits like you get at the Maccies drive through and everything available. My only critique would be the chips go soggy quickly and the fizzy drinks are poor quality (similar to Burger King)
It is starting to encroach on eating out costs though now, a bit more expensive than it should be, which does mean we use it far less than we would.

I enjoyed my visit to the Bridge Farm Cafe on News Lane, Rainford, Merseyside.. I will definitely be going back on a regular basis from now as it truly is an hidden gem..

I found the ambience very friendly and inviting inside the cafe, of which was spotlessly clean and tidy, outside was quite spacious and well laid out too with a decent amount of space for car parking at the rear.

I found the menu was quite varied and reasonably priced considering the lovely rural location..

As previously mentioned, I'm definitely going back to Bridge Farm Cafe and also to check out the garden plants too.

Pretty quick service, I would say, they're are just straight onto drinks even before you sit down and then onto mains as soon as drinks are there. Efficient I would say, feel free to ask for time if you aren't ready, but that would be just 5 mins tops.

Friendly bunch, noodles were good, crispy duck pretty dry (probably that's how it should be). Kids ate nice, kid friendly place and enough space. Nice ambience.

I asked for a dry martini, and they gave me what their inbthe picture while I was expecting a proper cocktail with olives. Lemon slice was a add on that I dripped after explaining three times. They just couldn't get it what Dry Martini cocktail is and kept pointing to their own cocktail menu. Well, we weren't there for cocktails but Chinese food, which was decent.

Overall, we were satisfied with our visit.

Visited this restaurant recently for an anniversary meal . Can highly recommend. It is a college training restaurant but please don’t let that put you off . The staff were all fantastic and the food was delicious. Three courses ( four if you include coffee and mints ) and a drink each for £55 for 2 people. What great value. Give it a try , you will be pleasantly surprised. Places like this really need the public’s support to continue their great work in teaching the students catering and hospitality. Please give it a try .

The staff always seem friendly and helpful. The food was decent which is good for McDonalds where it can be hit and miss.

The location is handy as it on the link road coming out of St. Helens on the way to the M62.

However, the road the exit is on can be busy which can make it a real pain to get out of at peak times.

Parking: There isn’t much parking which can be an issue during busy periods.

Subway have recently revamped their menu with some new options and some older ones receiving a makeover. The quality is consistent at this branch and it's what you expect from a Subway. The staff however are the best part for me, chatty and pleasant. Easy to talk to and seem interested in their work. Makes all the difference.

No sign of 'Aunt Bessie's' as somebody had posted.
We enjoyed it, and even tbough we where stuffed, we still had a pudding.

We went on Saturday 12th July a party of 5 we went for one in our party passing her driving test. The food was great I had a sweet chilli chicken which was georgious the staff were more than attentive they really made us feel welcome.
