Called in after collecting 2 weary friends off the train who'd just flown in that morning from St Louis USA. Welcomed by two very enthusiastic and friendly bar staff who kindly offered tasters of the range of ales. On making a decision we also looked at the food menu and again advised professionally by the same staff. Rob the brewer then most kindly gave our guests a short tour of the brewery. This has been my local when staying in Norwich for nearly twenty years, their hoppy Tap Bitter is my favourite Norwich beer. This week I tried a couple of others including The Good The Pale and The Hoppy, which was very turbid and sour. On returning it the barman he pushed back, claiming it's unfined and other customers had been drinking it that day. I was having none of it and insisted he change it for the Tap Bitter. Match day visit - so many people and yet hardly a wait to get served. This team know what their doing! Friendly welcome from the doormen at the garden entrance. Oh and the beer tastes great too!
