Very nice meal at wetherspoons. We went for dinner here when we were in Thetford visiting family. We've had mixed results from different spoons and this is definitely a good one. After reading some of the reviews I had uncertain expectations but ventured in and was delighted to find Titanic Plum Porter on tap at a crazy £2.34 a pint. Had I brought my CAMRA tokens it would have been even cheaper. Spoons goes for the mass market attracting a spectrum of customers (with differing manners) but I found the staff to be very pleasant. Big barn of a Wetherspoons in centre of Thetford.I didn’t like this one. The flow of people, the juxtaposition of bar and gaming machines. It was all poor. The end result was a chaotic mess of people, seemingly at random.The atmosphere suffered as a result; I didn’t enjoy myself. The machines feel particularly overlooked.The food was decent, some of the best loaded chips ever in a Wetherspoons, but no soured cream.Ran away after a couple of pints. Not one for lingering.
