Visited Helmsley on a cold and wintery Tuesday and found a very warm welcome at the Cocoa Tree. The interior is bright, airy and very nicely decorated and furnished. The cafe serves a good selection of light meals, sandwiches, cakes and deserts. We had home made soup, baked potato with cream cheese and smoked salmon, served with a side salad. Went in today 28/11 for lunch while staying at a nearby hotel. I had Tuna & cheese jacket potato & my husband had a bacon baguette. Both dishes were of a huge size & absolutely delicious. The owners are lovely friendly people. They have many returning customers & the cafe was full the whole time & so many people came after us who couldn’t get seated. Prices every reasonable

We visited with friends for coffee which was excellent so much so that we returned for lunch which was again excellent. The surroundings are light and airy with really comfortable chairs. We were spoilt for choice from the menu and specials boards everything sounded delicious. The staff were all friendly and efficient and the food was superb. The star dish was the “Discovery fruit cake with Wensleydale cheese”. A special thank you for looking after us so well today.
