We've just spent a week in Roade and frequented The Cock on numerous occasions. Vanessa, George and the rest of the staff were very welcoming and made our visits enjoyable. The locals we spoke to were also very friendly and full of conversation. The beer garden is lovely, great for families and dog friendly. A good choice of beers and lagers. Went in for lunch which was very nice, the atmosphere was a bit flat though, the bar area isn't very nice or welcoming but the "restaurant" area is better. Very much a locals pub I feel but worth a trip for lunch if maybe not an evening meal to impress your partner.

Whilst the pub wasn't our first choice in the surrounding area, I'm glad we went. The head chef was incredibly accommodating with our dietary and child requirements. Beer was great, portion size was great and the loaded chips selections were fantastic and definitely not a 'side'! Could barely move post meal.
