Been staying in Scotland 2 hours away from this estate. Saw this featured in Britain magazine and love Earl Gray tea. Was excited to visit. Unfortunately scones were dry and the tea had very little flavor. Twinings Earl Gray tea is much better than that pot of tea I bought. £6.2 for cream tea and £9 to visit the estate. I drove here with a private tour guide, and the sales lady gave me a hard time for paying separately from him. Tea room was adorable, but had way better food...read full review
Beautiful cream tea, huge scones ?. The only issue we had was too many lovely cakes to choose from. Lovely service. Thanks for the advice re the mud on the walk down to the coast, it was worth it ?
Sadly the tearoom does not seem as good as it was. There seemed a disconnect between the cakes on display and the actual cake served ( chocolate cake looked dark and rich but the slice served was lighter and the sponge was abit dry also the slice served did not seem as generous as those on display). The carrot cake was good. The Earl Grey tea was more like English breakfast tea ( dark brown with the feintest hint of Bergamot - perhaps the previous pot had Earl Grey in it?!) served...read full review
