Wow, what a place! Opened for food at 6pm, we were the only ones there, we did ring ahead to check opening hours as it was a Wednesday. We received a warm welcome from the hosts and the two whippets. Fire on, cosy atmosphere and fantastic food. We had Bog pie made by Graham, it was huge and full of flavour, as we're the hand cut triple cooked chips and fresh veg. Just stopped off to get some lunch. Great pub with an open fire and a very tired whippet. Landlord was very helpful and gave us some samples of beer to try. I had the Bogg pie which was lovely .. and plenty of it. My partner had the Hunters chicken .. which again she really enjoyed.

Great little remote pub with lovely welcome and great hospitality from the owners. Good beers and the food was exceptional and great value for money. I would definitely recommend the Bog Pie which was delicious and made with locally sourced ingredients. We were in a motorhome and stayed overnight in the car park, making this a great stop off on a trip to the Lake District.
