“A great find.We stayed overnight here while attending a function at Slayley Hall.A great welcome on arrival and very accommodating.The accommodation is very clean, comfortable, with some lovely touches and is separate from the pub so late access wasn't a problem. (If you need a taxi from slayley hall, book well in advance).Breakfast is continental style and self-service, but loads of options and choices.We would highly recommendThank you”

“Ate here 4 nights ago. The lamb dish and the accompanying red wine jus was one of the best dine out experiences I’ve had. The cooking was just exquisite. The dessert was a 10/10 as well.Pity the front of house staff refused our request of having the fire on in our dining area. Said there was already one on next door, but we weren’t sitting next door, were we. It was a cold night and the hospitality fell a little short for me.”

“They were fully booked and we were walk ins coming back from Hadrian's Wall. The tables were booked and the owner and staff went out of their way to find a table for 2. It is a lovely pub and upscale restaurant with amazing food. I had roasted lamb for the first time and there will never be another that will top how delicious the food was. The atmosphere is welcoming and the the pint was perfect! Brewed right there. We bought some beer and off we went on our way. I wish I would have stayed at the Inn as I know it would be a wonderful experience. Thank you to the staff for being so accommodating as we traveled all the way from Canada ?? to stop in. “My new favorite pub ..proper old school feeling and a real gem of a place ..the staff are so friendly and chatty and the locals make you feel at home and will readily chat if you want to.the real ales were spot on ..if it's still on the pump id recommend th Northern pale ale ..stunning pint . We were on holiday at the local campsite and will definitely be back ..thanks to the staff for making our trip away just that bit better !”
