Me and my partner were passing through after visiting the hareshaw linn waterfall which was incredible to start with and then decided to stop at the cheviot restaurant which looked nice and when we arrived the staff were very friendly and welcoming, they serve food till 4pm on a Sunday and considering we arrived just after 4 the chef was kind enough to offer us everything from the carvery which was incredible tasted amazing definitely recommend and we will definitely be back...read full review

Felt a bit like The Slaughtered Lamb when we came through the door, very unwelcoming, perhaps we caught them on a bad night.But unlike the Slaughtered Lamb they do food, a delicious five bean chilli that was both vegan and gluten free, which was a bit of a lifesaver.

Service was amazing the pub is beautiful in a beautiful location, ordered food only grip is that I ordered my steak blue but it was more like rare, hope they take this into consideration. The beer was well kept and that was amazing, Northern IPA.
