My wife has special dietary needs which were well understood and catered for - she thoroughly enjoyed her liver & bacon casserole. My pizza was a bit "leathery". We'd certainly return - but avoiding the pizza!
I went with a group of people for a festive lunch that was pre ordered so why it took so long to come out of the kitchen I do not know. The price was a bargain in fairness but still it would have been nice to have it in a timely manner. We waited 30 minutes for our pre ordered starters and once finished a further 30 minutes for the main course so my friend who hadn’t had a starter waited altogether an hour and 20 minutes before she had any food at all. This pub was round the corner from a b&b we were staying at so easy to walk to. We were made very welcome and all the staff were friendly and efficient. There was a good choice of traditional pub food, very generous portions and both meals we chose were excellent. I don’t know how they do it for the incredibly reasonable cost. I would happily recommend Chesters!
