Brilliant evening of music. Alerted by a friend that an alumnus of the legendary band Big Star would be playing that evening I drove down to Newark. The landlord had put together his own Big Star tribute act as a warm-up and they performed brilliantly. Jody Stephens, the only surviving Big Star member, joined them for their final song, an energetic rendition of 'September Gurls', before taking the stage with his bandmate as Those Pretty Wrongs. Not bad. Was kind of hoping for a little more or a flying circus vibe inside rather than a rock pub. Some good ales and would have been nice to see some good, clowdy or scrumpy ciders but they are rare these daysSome furniture slightly falling apart and repaired with tape but otherwise cool.

Unique pub with awesome atmosphere and epic beer selection that rocks hard with easily best live bands in the area.. Staff are great and rather cool plus banging beer garden and upstairs cocktails on Saturday night.. Legend of a pub, Cheers x
