Staying in the are for a wedding used Tripadvisor to find somewhere to eat. Came across The Beer Shed in Retford so booked me and my wife in for a Friday evening. The fact that it described itself as a brewery tap was the thing that swung the decision. The food (a shared seafood platter) was excellent and great value I thought, couldn’t get through it all. I travelled up from Portsmouth to meet a mate who travelled down from Sunderland...I spent both nights here as it was our favourite bar in Retford. All the bar staff and owners were really helpful and friendly with both them and the locals making us feel welcome. Special mention goes to Liv who was behind the bar for most of our stay, very friendly (despite me being a southern softy ?)... I didn't eat here but it looked fantastic. Fine pint of Harrison’s Best Bitter. Served by the gentleman with a solid Ron Swanson confidence but with more warmth and welcome. Fine food, great table service and friendly atmosphere. Highly
