I thought I was out of luck on my trip to this charming town after poking my head in several lackluster pubs in the centre. This place, however, offered warm service, an open fire, and a selection of beers worth far more than the reasonable prices they charge. Thank you Harrison and team!
Superbly kept traditional pub in a former station.Great seating outside. Function room in. the rear courtyard which looks very nice. Also 2-3 benches on the other side of the building on a lawn if you want a quieter spot.A range of well kept ales, 1 or 2 craft beers on keg and some nice Ciders. Some quality lagers and a Titanic Stout was on when I last visited which beats Guinness hands down for me.Platters of pork Pie quarters along the bar too which was very pleasant and cheerful...read full review

A nice pub with some really good beers and ciders. It was a very cosy pub with a warm open log fire. Friendly and helpful staff. The food that was available when we were there though was just various types of pork pie and cheese boards so not a great variety. Also dog friendly.
