The staff and other local residents made us feel so welcome, looked after us brilliantly and were so generous. We were even able to try their brilliant food. We plan to visit again soon in more relaxed circumstances.

The Spire and Spoke
21 Hill Rd, WatlingtonOur snack stop at the Spire and Spoke was a highlight of our cycle tour along the Ridgeway. Lovely coffee and cake. The pizzas looked and smelt great too. Nice to feel welcome as cyclists with somewhere to park our bikes.

The Red Lion
Britwell Salome, WatlingtonWe’ve been to the Red Lion several times. It never disappoints! On our latest visit we had good old fish and chips. Relatively straightforward to cook but a lot harder to get it right. And the Red Lion gets it spot-on. And a superb pea puree and homemade sauce tartare to go with it. Outstanding!

Amazing service, they catered incredibly well for our food intolerances and have so many beautiful gluten free options. Brilliant service, clean and lovely atmosphere, good music. Will definitely return and would highly recommend.

The Lord Nelson Pub
Brightwell Baldwin, WatlingtonGood food portions, nice staff and enough of them but the service was a bit disorganised and could have done well with an organised manager for when it got busy. Loved the back garden and it's surroundings, very tranquil.
Seems like a nice place.
Planning to come back and give it another go.

The Fox & Hounds, Christmas Common, WatlingtonThis was our first visit to the Fox and Hounds and it was excellent. We were greeted by Rudi the gorgeous Golden Retriever, had a nice chat in German with Rainer the owner and then enjoyed a superb lunch served by friendly waitresses.We chose the specials, Rainer's Gulasch for Peter and salmon with a Prosecco and lobster sauce for me, followed by excellent German apple cake and lemon meringue pie. We will definitely be returning to the Fox and Hounds!

I had a fantastic experience dining at House of Spice. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely top-notch — full of rich flavors, cooked beautifully, and served piping hot. Every dish I tried was bursting with authentic taste, especially the [insert favorite dish if you’d like to customize it].
A special mention goes to Mr. Kamali, who served me with exceptional professionalism and friendliness. He made the experience even more enjoyable with his attentive service and kind demeanor. It’s always great to be looked after by someone who clearly cares about customer satisfaction.
Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates quality food and excellent service. I’ll definitely be returning!

Kingfisher Fish & Chips
60 Couching St, WatlingtonScampi and Chips out of this world, can't beat it. You can not eat in here ONLY takeaways. They do telephone orders as well to save time waiting. Decent portion on Chip sizes as well.
