Very nice restaurant. Good food. The dessert was black forest gateaux - way overboard. Nothing like a blackforest gateaux. It was a plate full of brownies, chocolate slabs and cherries and cream. No one could eat that much. Do yourselves a favour and make the food simpler and easy to eat. The lamb was a big chump so rare it was still alive, I was never asked how I wanted it cooked. I like rare meat but it was blue.

We have visited this place a few times, and the royal oak has a relaxed atmosphere and has lots of charm.the food is fabulous ?.staff are very friendly. There's a great taste in chill out music playing in the background, which all added to a very pleasant afternoon. There is also a large pub carpark across the road, and we will definitely be coming back .
