Cù Mara Bistro & Takeaway
Shore Road, ArrocharBeen a while since I last visited. Would love to say things haven’t changed, but they have. For the better. Just three ‘girls’ having a Sunday late brunch and it was really special. Nothing ordinary in those cocktails, we practically went through the menu. I ordered the humus to start - not wanting a starter, but not wanting to not order a starter when the others were - it was amazing! Fresh, velvety, perfect. Then I had the Nashville salad and I just want to keep ordering this over and over! I ate more starter than intended, but could not put my fork down! And the portions were so generous, I really needed to put the fork down! Delicious chicken in buffalo sauce served with blue cheese dressing - these are always perfect bed fellows, but in a salad - it’s next level. Staff were so attentive and the atmosphere relaxed. Highly recommend.

Forest Holidays Ardgartan Argyll
Forest Holidays, Ardgartan, ArrocharWe stayed in cabin 4, golden oak, with a beautiful view straight out onto loch long, stunning view it really was. Best location I have stayed in of all the forest holidays locations.
Service was great from the team, all really nice folk.
Ate at the village inn one night and cu mara bistro another night both 10mins drive, and both excellent (and dog friendly).
Great destination, highly recommend

Ben Arthur Bothy
Main street, ArrocharI stopped off here for a bite to eat after hiking to Ben Arthur.
It was fate that they had a 'Ben Arthur' burger, which featured bacon, cheese and black pudding.
I demolished the burger and slurpped my well deserved pint whilst basking in the sun in the lounge area overlooking Loch Long.
Staff were kind and helpful.
£4.40 for a pint of Magners is a bargain!
Great food, great views, great prices and great staff.

The Olive Branch Arrochar
Main Street, ArrocharExcellent breakfast rolls and nice coffee, went there instead of buying hotel breakfast nearby. The place is small but there are a couple of table to sit, or outside across the park if the weather is nice. They also have packed sandwiches if you want a to-go lunch for a walk.

Village Inn
Loch Long, Shore Road, ArrocharGreat place. Defo a room with a view but more than anything else... Ali at the Village Inn is an absolute star. Reception, bar, tables… he does it all with a smile and makes it look easy. Friendly, efficient, and genuinely lovely.
Honestly, he’s restored my faith in young people working in hospitality. Give that man a pay rise!! ????????????

Arrochar Chippy - Fish and Chips
Prospect Place, ArrocharMost fish and chip shops I've visited have left me disappointed, with stale, tasteless fish, too much batter, and prices that don’t match the quality.\n\nHowever, after a day of mountaineering in the Arrochar Alps with my brother, we decided to give this chippy a go for a well-deserved meal, and I’m glad we did! The fish was excellently cooked, bursting with flavour—definitely fresh, which is rare for white fish (especially compared to those frozen for months in Grimsby). And perfectly complemented by a generous dosing of fresh lemon and tartar sauce ... lovely!\n\nThe hospitality of the lady serving us was warm and welcoming, creating a lovely atmosphere. Another thing that truly set this place apart from other chippies was its delightful scent, thanks to juniper and other scented candles rather than the typical greasy smell. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting a reasonably priced meal after a hard day on the mountain!
