I usually enjoy a Wetherspoons, but this one is awful. The staff literally flung our food on the table. They seemed very grumpy that we ordered using the app, and this wasn’t just one member of staff, it was all of them, all miserable and attitudy.
The service from bar staff is second to none but being forced to sit in foyer by door staff when there was seating available inside has left myself and son freezing. It's usually the highlight of his day as I'm a 'weekend dad' he (and I) looks forward to sitting down at end of our day, to eat and have his hot chocolate. The food isn't great. Was barely warm when it finally arrived after over 40 mins waiting. To be honest, I'd have been less annoyed if the girl at bar had just said it was a long wait. It's busy yes, but so is everywhere in Edinburgh. Typical Wetherspoons atmosphere, which is none. If they cannot accommodate good service and good food to that many customers they could consider losing a few tables to be able to cope with demand on the kitchen
