Musicker
11 High St, Rothesay, Isle of ButeWas so happy to come across this veggie cafe by pure chance after visiting the castle. The menu sounded delicious even to my meat eating family so we went in & realised everything was veggie, such a great variety of choice to suit anyone’s taste. I had the bacon & Stilton panini and it was so lovely. They are also extremely dog friendly & even gave our dogs peanut butter licki mats! Never been anywhere so accommodating to dogs or so impressive with their veggie selection!

The Waterfront, Rothesay
16 E Princes St, Rothesay, Isle of ButeThis is a gem & a great wee restaurant in Rothesay. Food was lovely, service was spot on, good value, and chat engaging. Go with the flow and enjoy some lovely (Polish mainly) food, & good banter - this is a small place with attention paid to the food and service, so don't expect chips or nuggets or boil in the bag on the menu - its maybe 3 or 4 main course choices available only, and maybe 3 starter choices- that should give you some confidence they serve properly thought-out dishes. Lovely and well worth the visit, but....check the opening times so you're not disappointed!

Ambience Café
7 Victoria St, Rothesay, Isle of ButeFantastic cafe, also selling its home baked bread and cakes for take out. We had a delicious lunch (Pav’s own salted herring, pizza) then coffee and cake (homemade pastries and scones). Service was excellent and welcoming. Perfect location opposite the pier, it’s a must visit and dog friendly.

Grapes Bar
70 Montague St, Rothesay, Isle of ButeWe had a fabulous afternoon here yesterday. We were only there for a couple of hours as we were on the Waverley - wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were great and accommodated our group of 20, even putting the karaoke on. Made our day, thanks so much!

Jade Garden
25 Gallowgate, Rothesay, Isle of ButeLovely found and staff but it was understaffed and the takeaway entrance isn't really partitioned from the restaurant but the takeaway customers aren't invited to sit in the restaurant either so you have to press through a crowd when busy.

Ettrick Bay Tea Room
Heide Vreugd/Et B875, Rothesay, Isle of ButeAlways loved going to ettrick Bay for the last 15years. Holds very important memories for my family and me. We were a bit late in the day so obviously there weren't many bakes goods left (what they did have was lovely) which only proves how good they are. The selection on the menu is very much smaller then it used to be (change in ownership) some was ok but I was disappointed in my loaded fries, they looked and tastes greasy and as if they came out the oven (not only to melt the cheese) if I had guessed this before hand I would not have ordered this item. Staff was lovely and very friendly!! The only other thing I would say is when the sun is on the windows you get absolutely blinded and can't see a thing. Will still be back every time we are on the Island! During the last two hours (or so) of being open there when several items no longer available which to me just proves they do very well and serve good food. Recommended!

7 Argyle St, Rothesay, Isle of ButeAs visitors to Bute we didn't know the best place to eat but India Pavilion was recommended by our family.
We were not disappointed.
The gentleman serving was really friendly.
The food was plentiful and extremely tasty.
Having eaten many curries in Bradford, this was definitely on the same level.

West End Cafe - Bute
1-3 Gallowgate, Rothesay, Isle of ButeWe come here today from a trip on the Waverley and the food was so delicious and fresh. I think this could have been the best battered fish I’ve had. Everyone of the family enjoyed their food and it looked amazing! Fish and chips were fresh and not greasy in the slightest for being fried. Really an amazing service and experience at this establishment. Customer service was brilliant and well attentive. We will be back ?

Zavaronis cafe
20 Argyle St, Rothesay, Isle of ButeThe absolute best ice cream! Of course, everyone is a fan of ice cream, but this surpasses all! Absolutely a must try if you ever visit the Isle of Bute - extremely reasonable pricing and the *best* quality & taste. I personally recommend trying their standard vanilla flavour + the raspberry (?) sauce on top as this is genuinely my favourite ice cream in the world, but of course all their flavours are great regardless. I believe they make the ice cream themselves via a milk-based recipe, its very light and refreshing, perfect for any occasion. The staff are friendly, the chippy-chips they serve are decent, though I can’t comment too much on anything else they serve since I haven’t tried much else myself! Their cafe is normally busy when we visit so I’d say that’s a good sign, their ice cream’s standard has been very consistent as well during our countless visits. I’d never hop on the ferry to leave Bute without having a Zavaroni’s ice cream!

Three In One
10 Argyle St, Rothesay, Isle of ButeGot some lunch here before starting off a lil exploring of the island. Got the munchy box and a smoked sausage pizza. The service was not really the best, waited for about 5 min before we were attended to even though there was someone at the counter and we were the only people there. The food was absolutely delicious and wished we got more pizza. Good value for money and will likely be back again when in the area again.
