249 Argyll St, DunoonPopped in for a drink lunchtime. They were very busy but a wonderful place to visit. The food looked amazing but unfortunately we didn’t have time to eat. We had two glasses of red wine and the young lady behind the bar despite being incredibly busy was superb. We’d highly recommend if you are visiting Dunoon

Anselmo's Fish & Chips
36 Hillfoot St, DunoonAbsolutely fantastic ? outstanding food and the service and banter was awesome. Such a busy place but we got served so very quickly. I don't even know where to start. Definitely 10/10. We have had a few Scottish chippy's but this is by far THE BEST EVER.

58 John St, DunoonI have had food from Chatters twice now, both occasions were food not in the restaurant. Once being for my Great Uncle and Aunty's wedding Anniversary two years ago at Hafton House in Dunoon, and a second time at Strone Church for my Great Uncles Funeral. I just want to say the staff who work here are exceptional and so so kind and lovely and every single person makes you feel welcome and they go above and beyond to be super friendly and it feels very natural. The food both times, although different types of food, has been exceptional and is made with love and care. This is really a gem of Dunoon and the surrounding area, we don't live close at all but would be here all the time if we could!
I just want to say a special thank you for making my Uncles funeral so special and to all the staff for being wonderful and having lovely smiles on their faces despite having to cope with so many people in such a small room. 1000% recommend.

The 51st State and La Cantina Restaurant
200-202 Argyll St, DunoonVaried menu, food is delicious and staff are very kind, efficient and friendly. I came in for lunch with 7 adults and 8 children. We hadn't booked. The staff were more than happy to accommodate us and move tables around. The food was lovely, particularly the chicken and mushroom risotto. I highly recommend a visit.

Bites Sandwich Shop
59 Argyll St, DunoonHighly recommend! Stopped in for some breakfast/brunch for our travels back to the West Midlands. The food was cooked fresh as we were waiting and the coffee was delicious! The gentleman that served us (I'm so sorry for not getting your name) was absolutely lovely and we had a little chat while we waited. Definitely stop in for a Bite if you get a chance. 115-117 Argyll St, DunoonSinbads is well known in Dunoon as it is a very popular local bar. Fitted with a computer slot machine, pool table, jukebox and outdoor area for sitting and a smoking area. The bar has the normal range of drinks for the area. The atmosphere is lively and everyone gets to know each other in there.

There's a great atmosphere and the views from the windows are stunning. Situation along thr waterfront, there are outdoor tables too. Small delicious menu. The coffee is excellent. Lovely cakes. Everything is fresh and well presented. Reasonable prices. The staff actually lovely. My daughter has caelics disease, the lady who took our order, actually rewashed her cutlery to help extra sure it was safe and check the ingredients of a gluten free cake. Such attention to food safety was really appreciated.

The first is the cinnamon bun! - Well worth pre-ordering, make sure you get enough, as one will not be enough.Next, the handmade chocolates are to die for! - Little hits of delicious chocolatey goodness. Beautifully flavoured and presented.Yolanda is really personable and friendly. If you need a bespoke birthday cake, or something sweet to tackle your cravings… this is the go-to place.

113 George St, DunoonI stumbled upon this bakery purely by chance while stopping at a gas station — and what a find! Living in the UK, I’ve often found it hard to come across pastry shops that can match the unforgettable quality you find in places like Chicago. But this one completely blew me away.
I picked up a cherry and almond Danish, and honestly, it was perfect. Every bite was flavorful, moist, and beautifully layered. Not a single dry or hard patch — something that’s sadly all too common in pastries elsewhere. This was the real deal: buttery, balanced, and clearly made with care.
I genuinely wish I had bought every pastry they had at that gas station. I’ll absolutely be keeping an eye out for this bakery in the future. If you ever spot their pastries — don’t hesitate. You won’t regret it!
