This restaurant is very popular, rightly so, the food is of the highest quality, we both had the crab and prawn starter, my wife had sea bass and I went for the halibut. All the dishes were perfect, fresh ingredients beautifully cooked and seasoned. With a rather expensive bottle of Sémillon and desserts, the bill came to over £140, which for this quality is very reasonable. Unlike other reviewers, we found the front-of-house and table service exemplary.
We could not fault anything about this little restaurant, which we had booked only because we had read good reviews. The reviews were certainly right! Great staff, excellent, well-presented food.
...happy to report that The Olive Tree which has just opened on the same site is a worthy successor - see separate review. We joining others in wishing Adam and Martine a well-earned rest and great future with their other venture at 7b St Thomas Street.
