Great old historic hotel. Situated right in the heart of old Wells fronting on to the market place. Seconds away from the Cathedral and Bishops Palace it's hard to beat the location. Parking can be a bit difficult but the staff are a real help and a paid car park is just around the corner. This place feels confused, the decor and customers are more, quick pint, run down needs a face lift.But the menu is steak tartar, there is a mismatch, and it feels a little odd.The food was nice, but the ambience was bright, unromantic, and a bit chavvy,

Lovely place the food was really excellent...try the wild boar and mushroom pie.... simply awesome the staff were really lovely and informative. Can't wait to visit again. What a lovely place wells is .. you must visit the cathedral, the architecture within is simply brilliant ?
