Lovely pub, so friendly with cosy areas inside. Very welcoming and patrons are all lovely and a plus for us is that they are dog friendly ????. The wine is also a good quality ?. Great place to pop in after a walk around the Burton river
Was initially shocked to see so many negative reviews for what I found to be an excellent pub, until further reading revealed that they all pertain to a previous landlady who sounds like she was a right piece of work if the accuracy of the previous reviews are to be believed. Fortunately our experience was more aligned to recent reviews post October 2019. Firstly it’s a cracking pub building. Looks OK on the outside but is really nice on the inside. Bar, snugs and restaurant are all very pleasant. Beers are a good selection and the food, (on this occasion a well presented pork pie platter and a mixed cheese platter) were decent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
