This is a lovely pub with a great atmosphere. There is a pleasant seating area outside, just the place to be on a summer evening. We often end up at this watering hole after taking one of the scenic walks that surround the pub. This spot is nice to grab a bite, and the menu won't break the bank.

Went to Whittington in Staffordshire, just outside lichfield, walked along the canal there ,left our car at the old dog ,when we came back ,with the weather improved we sat outside and ordered food ,the place was a little quiet when we set off ,when we came back it had become alot busier, lots of families, we chose the camombert starters for two then ,main meals of salmon and prawn salad ,and sea bass ,we had to wait a little for each of the courses ,but it was worth it ,food...read full review

Visited the Dog Inn for the first time after a walk with a group in the surrounding area. Well situated for a walk across Whittington Heath Golf Club and Whittington Barracks including the firing range. Walked about 6 mikes back to the pub where we had a table booked for 13.15. The pub wasn't too busy at that time of day on a Monday. We had a couple of beers and a meal. The pub was very nice inside. The lady behind the bar was very pleasant and friendly.
