Arrived late at the Salutation. We were hoping to get a meal before a theatre visit but hadn't booked. Wilson who greeted us was really apologetic and honest that he had already got 45 minutes worth of orders ahead of us so there wouldn't be time for us to have a meal. We settled for a coffee and a bag of crisps. Wilson later brought us over a bar of chocolate each as an apology. How kind. I have to say the food looked lovely and the atmosphere excellent. The Salutation in the hiden jewel of Ipswich. From the outside you could easily walk by and not give a second look. Trust me when I say, you must pop inside this pub. The landlord is a chap named Wilson. He adds humour and a caring attitude to his customers, which he shows in abundance. Why in prior to a show at the Regent Theatre. The pub was warm and welcoming, the bar staff friendly and helpful. The place itself was modern, clean and inviting.Popped back in after the show for a quick drink, was a shame it was so quiet, but again the service was very good.
