The Kala Sheep Indian Takeaway in Newmarket

We have just had the most amazing Meal in this Resteraunt, Sunday Evening Banquet! Consists of Poppadoms & Pickles, any Starter (I had Chicken Tikka, Wife had Chicken Chat) any Main (Tandoori Mixed Grill and a Chicken, Lamb and Potato dish from the Specials list) any Side (Bumbay Aloo and Sag Aloo) Rice or Naan.
Everything was served hot, tastey, fresh and plenty of it. The Staff couldn't be helpful enough.
We will be returning.

Nancy's Tea Shop

What a delightful tea room! Not knowing the Newmarket cafe scene, & having read reviews on numerous cafes, I decided to book Nancy's. I am so pleased I did! Simon & Elaini are lovely & so is the food. Freshly cooked & prepared meals. Tea served out of bone china teapots, with tea strainers into pretty cups & saucers. The homemade cakes, well .... what a choice. We picked the date slice & the lemon & blueberry 'wedge' to take out. They were both still deliciously moist 2 days later. I can't recommend this tearoom highly enough and will most definitely be back! Oooh, and just to add - they're very reasonably priced.

Mangiare Ristorante Italiano

We were lucky enough to have lunch here yesterday, and was absolutely blown away by the friendly and helpful staff, the food which was 'chefs kiss' and how reasonable the prices were. We will definitely be back very soon!!

Rose And Mango

This place is a little gem !
I have driven pass it so many times and never thought to eat there. O will most definitely be going again.
The food is sublime and the prices reasonable. There is a lot more seating than I thought, but the tables are not crammed in.
The dishes are very different to other Indian restaurants and that's what I like about it.
The atmosphere was comfortable and not crowded or noisy.
All in all a great restaurant and highly recommended

The Graze Kitchen Ltd

The sisters who are serving at The Graze Kitchen are super friendly and felt so welcome. Dogs are welcome too and we're some vegan options such as banana and carrot cake. Yum. The place is very clean and look forward to having a coffee there again in the near future.

Ormonde Table Table

We went out for Breakfast yesterday morning with a couple of friends and we couldn't have had a better experience. Janis greeted us on arrival and showed us to our table and showed Excellent customer service throughout the breakfast. Leanne was also fantastic waitress, she served with a smile throughout and was lovely and friendly, great banter as well.

Starbucks

There’s more than 3 years my wife and I always come to take our coffee on Sundays morning at Starbucks and we love the food and drinks, especially the costumer service provided for the ladies that works there.
We normally just get there and they already know what we’ll take.

Pizza Express

Kid-friendliness: Excellent service, friendly staff who were efficient despite an extremely busy and loud restaurant. Although my food wasn't the best, my family enjoyed theirs and we were so impressed with the staff.

The Old Scotch Indian

Best Indian takeaway in the local area, and trust me we have tried them all! The naan bread’s are the best I’ve ever eaten. Food amazing, and really polite and friendly customer service- highly recommend!

Greyhound & TwentyOne

Wonderful meal that came out to us very fast and extremely tasty. The staff was super helpful and even one of the owners made me a non alcoholic floater coffee that is no longer a regular drink that you can get in most places I have visited. Will definitely visit again and try other dishes available maybe on a different day of the week. We had a traditional chicken roast dinner and they could not be more helpful. Thank you for accommodating a birthday girl a day before my actual birthday which was Monday. Would highly recommend a visit to this fantastic pub and restaurant.

Parking: A great car park and an overflow car park as well.

Munsons Brewery @ The Chequers

The owners gave the loveliest welcome and made us feel at home. Pat knew his menu very well and the food was delicious... Especially the famous cheesecake!! It is a must. Thank you so much for your hospitality and wonderful atmosphere x

Lime Indian

My second delivery order (via Just Eat.) Can't rate it highly enough . Fantastic food, I ordered the Beef Jalfrezi on both occasions & it was delicious. I also recommend the House special curry.

Unico Pizzeria Ristorante

Love this place. I never expected to find a restaurant like this in little old Newmarket. It feels classy. The food is good and competitively priced. The waitress for food on both occasions I visited wasn't bad. The staff are lovely. I definitely recommend it. Its also not too far from car parks in the town.

Rumbles Fish Bar New Market

Popped in here on a tortuous route home after getting stuck in road closure on A12. It was later in the evening. The guys were friendly and made a delicious portion of chips. I then had the grilled halloumi wrap which was excellent. Very tasty and nicely spiced. Thank you guys . . .

Nelore Brazilian Steak House

Probably one of the best restaurants we've been to. Delicious and juicy servings of meat and a side buffet that compliments them perfectly.

Definitely worth coming back to if we're back in the area.

Bull

Love this pub, Ryan cooked us delicious food. Atmosphere is lovely which was helped by Greg who is always smiling and very helpful. Highly recommend this this pub, the best in newmarket!!!

New Wellington

A lovely local pub with a real family feel. Great food, service, and friendly staff. Always made to feel welcome. A great place to watch football or go for drinks before race days. Sunday roasts are excellent value for 3 courses!

White Hart

Enjoyed my birthday celebrations there with my daughter . Chris the Manager looked after us well. Will return again very soon .

I order from here quite often now as it’s such good food, everything i’ve tried from here so far had been so consistently tasty and crispy and soooo good. The staff and delivery drivers are always so lovely and i 100% recommend ordering from here. You wont be disappointed!! p.s the milkshakes are good too ?

Khobkhun Thai Restaurant

Amazing little restaurant, food great. 9 of us went for a 50th birthday, very welcoming & friendly, we weren't rushed at all. We took our own cake which they brought out for us at the end of the meal & even sang happy birthday which made it even more special!

Sunlight Chinese Thai & Fish & Chips

You absolutely must try:

Singapore Rice Noodles / Chow Mein
Salt and pepper chicken (you can ask for extra spicy)
Satay Chicken Skewers.

It is unrivalled, i can promise you that. after trying many up and down the UK as an Area Manager, these dishes are by far the best from here.

If you don't come here for the food, then its for the lovely lady who pours her heart and soul into a great service, sometimes throwing in her handmade complimentary gifts as well.

U.S.A. Fried Chicken & Burgers

nice food ,the place isn’t that clean I was there the other day and there was loads of liquid on the floor and all the tables were messy .but staff were really nice but over all it’s a good place to eat i would defo eat there again

Sea Horse Fish N Grill

As it's a takeaway and home delivery service, eat in is not that classy. Although food standard, quality and service is excellent. You don't have to wait long before you are served.

Absolutely beautiful food, when I stop down here in my truck, I always have to go to this chinese. Even tho im dieting, I have to go to this chinese ? thank-you once again for a delicious meal see you next time I'm here.

Lovely room however lift to 3rd floor not working so had to get off at 2 and walk.

Rooms: Premier plus fabulous

Food and drinks: Booked and paid for breakfast at 11am arrived at 10.50 to be told restaurant closed last orders 10.45. Very angry manager advised us restaurant not part of hotel and that they should have told us correct time. However he did re open kitchen for us not a great experience.

Street Cafe

As a vegetarian I often find that I get the same option everywhere I go but these guys were so accommodating and helpful and let me ‘create’ my own vegetarian burger and went through the menu with me to see what other dishes could be done veggies for me! 10/10 lovely staff and great service

Thai Street Cafe

Quite simply the best place to eat in Newmarket, the food is of excellent quality. I have eaten here many times and have never had a bad meal. The staff are incredibly friendly, it offers great food and cocktails!

Rumbles fish Bar

I'm biased but cmon it's my local chippy, energy costs are up, oil costs more, staff costs more, I just think it's really tough so please support them.
Friendly and chatty, really good fresh chip shop chips and nice extras, they also do a mean line in kebabs.

Costa Coffee

Costa coffee ☕ the staff seem unorganised but the chocolate brownie and millionaire shortbread were tasty and the coffee was good . For a costa coffee it was good but not exceptional.

Burger King

The food is ok. I think the buns should be toasted. There is a good selection of beef and chicken products. There is a little bit of seating but it is mainly takeaway.

White Horse Exning

At first we thought it was a bit on the pricey side, but when our food arrived we were very impressed. There was more than enough food and the beef was cooked exactly how we asked for it, and again there was plenty.

If I had to mention a negative my yorkie was a bit soggy in the middle, but the other plate was perfect. I wouldn't put me off returning.
I do begrudge slightly paying extra for cauliflower cheese but a lot of places are doing this now,even some carveries and I begrudge it at all these places, it was a good portion tho and more than enough for 2 of us to share.

I would definitely recommend the white horse for a plated Sunday roast.and I will definitely go back.

P. S a vegetarian plate is only a tenner ?

Montaz Contemporary Indian Dining

This is our favourite Indian restaurant in the west Suffolk/ East Cambridgeshire area! Always top notch food and very friendly service. The menu is not your normal madras/ vindaloo style though you can have that if you insist but stick to their specialties, they are suberb!

Valley Way Fish Shop

Thank you Julian for the great food on Friday 15th November 2025 for the fish and chip night at The Cheveley Road Club. There were 27 very happy people who enjoyed the fish and chips and sausage and chips that were delivered for us. We will certainly be using you again in the future. ❤️

Studland House x BOBA

We had a takeaway on recommendation, and now this is our local. Even though we live three towns away. Honestly, best Chinese we've had in years. It's like having your eyes opened to how other places cheap out on ingredients. No photos because we inhaled it. We had Set meal for 2, option C.

The Pantry Fine Foods

Decided to stop off for brunch/ lunch on our way to Cromer. We were lucky to have the choice of both brunch/lunch menus. Decided on lunch. We couldn't see the croque madame on the menu but was on their website menu. Katie explained they'd changed it last week but we could still have it.
It was delicious. There were lots on the menu that sounded good. I had a tasty peppermint tea.
Would love to have the pantry near home so we could try out all the tasty treats on the menu.
Fabulous service from Katie too. We will definitely be back when we are passing.

Cortado Espresso Bar

Had a lovely brunch, salmon & cream cheese with a poached egg all on toasted sourdough, which was very nice, had a biscoff brownie for afters which was also very nice, had a nice latte with it. Would definitely visit again, highly recommend it.

The Prince of Wales

This is long overdue and I write this as someone who was here extremely briefly on the 13th October after Newmarket races. Myself and a few others absolutely legged it to this pub to try and escape the torrential rain and needless to say we got soaked. Upon arrival we got welcomed like entering a family home and was offered, food, drink and dry clothes!! We took them up on the drink and the lovely barlady gave me a black neck oil t shirt which is what I've just found indoors and the reason why I'm writing this post! The staff were so friendly, asked us about our day and were just 10/10 for our short stop - they even offered us a lift back to the station to catch our next train! When I return to Newmarket races, I will 100% be attending here before and after. Thanks again all.Jordan

The White Swan

Nice village pub. Generous portions! We had a Sunday roast and the Vegetarian option must be ordered in advance(just call in). Dogs allowed and dessert was delicious.

Cherry Tree Newmarket

Omg amazing roast dinner . That good I’m going to be booking again as everything was so perfectly cooked . You could taste the delicious flavour on the parsnips .

The Yard Pub

Used to come here a lot a long time ago. It's been spruced up a bit since then but used to always be able to get a pint at midday, was shocked to see it didn't open until 3pm. That's the way of the world these days.Still a good pub.

Newmarket Kebab House

Lamb doner wrap was delicious and incredibly generous portion basically a burrito and veggies were fresh. Chicken strips were seasoned nicely but chips were a bit anemic. Also garlic bread with cheese was bit bland. Overall great quality but better chips and garlic bread for the 5 stars. Will try pizza next time. Will be back guys cheers

Berties Restaurant

I took a party of 14 people there after a tour of Newmarket. The staff were charming and well-organised. They welcomed us in, had set a long table for use, and were very good at managing the bill items for couples and singles in the group. The food was excellent and good value and there was a nice, up-market atmosphere. We all relaxed and enjoyed a tasty lunch and good company. We pre-ordered from the main menu but there was a carvery operating on the day of our visit too. The decor is above average for this type of venue; well-furnished and with a race horse theme as you would expect. The toilets were quite luxurious - people commented on that!

Greggs

I want to thank Rosaria who served me from the bottom of my heart. I ordered a coffee and also a baguette. When I had to pay for some reason, my card refused the payment even though I have enough money in my account. I felt very uncomfortable and embarrassed. Ms. Rossaria, who served me, told me not to worry and that I could bring the money next time. There are always good-hearted people who can understand the situation. SUBWAY Newmarket

I love this SUBWAY! The manager and all the workers are so kind and amazing! My food is always made with care and tastes amazing every time. Great spot to dine in or for take out to eat nearby.
