Pubs in Dorking

“A wonderful Sunday lunch in beautiful surroundings with dear friends in our own private room. We preordered off the vast menu that catered for all needs. The service was attentive, the food delicious and plentiful. I would highly recommend for large group gatherings. Walks post lunch too where we discovered the field of sugar beet (it kept us guessing)!”

“As always, our recent visit was perfect! The staff are always very friendly and helpful, and the lovely youngsters always welcome us with a smile and have a very pleasant attitude. The food is always amazing (the lamb roast is out of this world), and the delicious desserts never fail to please. In the warmer weather it is such a pleasure to sit outside on the delightful terrace with beautiful views, and when the weather turns colder, the interior is always warm and cosy, especially when the fire is going strong! It's a pleasure all year round to eat at the wonderful King William IV.Dietary restrictions: My daughter is a coeliac, and her dietary requirements are always catered for very well”

“I feel rather conflicted about this venue. A pretty and quaint pub? Absolutely! Interesting low ceiling, interior with a warm feel to it? Yes! Nicely maintained beer garden? Another ‘yes.’ Venue was pleasantly busy outside, when four of us arrived here, on a weekday, late afternoon. I’d been told by a couple from Oxshott that the food here is very good and the Fish and Chips which were ordered by two of our group, were apparently excellent. So, why do I feel conflicted? I think it’s me being slightly unfair, perhaps…. It’s the view, or lack thereof….Walliswood isn’t really remarkable, in comparison to many of the nearby, adjacent villages, and that was my only slight problem with the location, solely.”

“You will walk past the Queen’s Head at the bottom of Dorking town centre and not give it a second thought. You will never know how big a mistake you made. The venue is unassuming, but the food and wine are sensational and the value for money is out of this world. The service is friendly, and efficient. They could be more helpful in telling you how good the food is but they are modest. Oh, and the loos are spotless and spacious. Back to the food. There’s a Mon-Fri lunch menu at £15 for two courses and £20 for three. I am not kidding when I say you would not be disappointed to pay three times that much. We went for lunch on Monday and it was empty. It ought to be mobbed. We drove 30 minutes from Kingston and will do so again. The Queen’s Head in Dorking is an unsung delight if you appreciate great food and wine.”

“We went to The Parrot today for a late lunch for my birthday. We’re staying at an air bnb 4 miles down the road and The Parrot was recommended by the air bnb owner. Amazing food, fab service and perfect country pub setting. Great value for money. When it came time for us to go home, there were no taxis until the next day and it was too dark for us to walk home. We were stranded! We went to the bar and a lovely member of staff, Lily, asked if we were ok. We explained our situation and she did everything she could to help us. Eventually, she called her mum who came to our aid and took us home! Now that’s what you call customer service! So, an excellent pub, but a huge shout out to Lily who is simply a wonderful human.”
