This is a genuine first visit review of a genuine last minute Mother's Day booking for 7 and a dog. Circumstance led to us needing to book a table for Mum at very short notice. After a dozen or so requests to other places The Bat and Ball were the only one to call me and politely provide an appropriate booking that included Mum's dog. A great pub all around.A good selection of beers and ciders (check blackboard for the extra ones they have round the back!)A great seasonally changing menu, mostly stays the same, but the specifics change every 3 months or so. Occasionally one season will be a bit of a miss though. We had lunch from the vegan & vegetarian menu. The food was beautifully presented and was absolutely spectacular! Full of creativity, flavour and subtlety. The staff were incredibly attentive, with the atmosphere of gentle conviviality topping off a superb visit. Congratulations to the kitchen, the bar staff and the waiting team.
