Longsands Fish Kitchen
27 Front St, Tynemouth, North ShieldsDropped in on an afternoon with a table consisting of 4 adults and 4 children. The service was very good and the food was lovely.
Probably the best fish and chips iv had in a restaurant, lovely and fresh and crisp batter and a good healthy portion.
My partner has the fish bites and that was alot bigger than expected, the children's portions were very good too
Would definitely recommend and if I'm ever in the area again I'll be popping back in

Turks Head
41 Front St, Tynemouth, North ShieldsLovely traditional style pub, dog friendly in a stunning location. Fantastic history associated with the pub. Pizza is available, we didn't have any but it looked amazing. Nice and relaxed atmosphere.

Riley's Fish Shack
King Edward's Bay, TynemouthWow what a “place” ? No seriously if your anywhere near her definitely worth a try, literally two shipping containers welded together one taken up by the kitchen all open with charcoal grills, the other with a small WC for customers and maybe 3 tables inside the rest are high stools to either small tall bar tables or sat facing the sea with a small ledge to eat on, more handrail than bar but fine. But wow what a location in the small King Edward’s bay protected from the elements down in the bottom with the ancient priory towering up above. Beautiful sand and sea perfectly frame the view, good is served in either cardboard take away boxes or tin plates very rustic as are the drinks in cans and plastic cups but the food was outstanding, Cooked to order
And as fresh as it comes, we went for the Bang Bank monkfish on a pitta wrap with a crunchy noodle type salad on top, very very good. We wanted the scallops but the last two had just been served to the people sat next to us ! Disappointed as we had booked and it was 1pm but they looked mega and served in a big shell with butter ?? Not cheap but good value as portion sizes were large, we had 3 x monkfish 1 side of roasted vegetables and 2x roasted potatoes (lovely) 3 x coffees and 2 x soft drinks and 2 x wine £200 for 4 people. We were
Lucky as it was raining sideways at the top of the bay but like the Caribbean sat on the restaurant terrace. Would recommend

Dil & the Bear
18 Front St, Tynemouth, North ShieldsJust popped in this morning for coffee and cake with my son and felt i had to make a on your site. The coffee and cake were excellent but we were really impressed with the service. A young lad served us and must admit his customer communication skills were exceptional it was nice to see a youngster with some banter. Well done son.

The Priory
Front St, Tynemouth, North ShieldsIncreasingly my favourite place to go in Tynemouth. Good value, great people, and it's not pretending to be anything it's not. And it serves breakfasts until 3pm so you can have a proper filler and a pint for well under £15, not bad at all!

Marshalls
33 Front St, Tynemouth, North ShieldsExcellent fish & chips here, and a vast menu of other dishes. If it was good enough for Jimi Hendrix when he bought fish & chips here in 1967, it was good enough for me. Give it a try when in Tynemouth.
