Longsands Fish Kitchen
27 Front St, Tynemouth, North ShieldsLongsands Fish Kitchen is heaving — the kind of busy where you briefly consider abandoning ship, then remember you’re in Tynemouth and good fish is a competitive sport. We managed to grab a table outside, which felt like winning a small lottery.
The food absolutely justifies the chaos. The chips are excellent — crisp, not a hint of grease, the sort that make you wonder why other places can’t manage the same. The tiger prawns were an unexpected star too: fresh, full of flavour, and gone far too quickly.
Service is brisk but friendly, and despite the crowds, everything arrives hot and well cooked.
If you don’t mind a bit of a scramble for seating, it’s a cracking spot. Great food, great chips, and a reminder that sometimes the busiest places are busy for a reason.

Riley's Fish Shack
King Edward's Bay, TynemouthOMG, amazing venue. Well worth the wait to be seated if you haven't booked in advance.
Crab souffle. Oysters, Cajun haddock - all out of this world. Not expensive. Great idea to sit on deckchairs with a small table on the beach if you haven't reserved a table. Freddie was fantastic, knowledgeable, helpful, cheery, and a delight. What a gem. Highly recommend.

The ambience was absolutely lovely calm, cosy, and welcoming. Great food, warm service, and such a comfortable space to unwind. A perfect little morning escape and definitely somewhere we’ll be coming back again!?

Davanti Classico
TynemouthThis place is a hidden gem.. we got a lovely welcome, taken too our table order our drinks and food, the place was really busy and yet our drinks arrived within five minutes and our food which was, garlic bread followed by, chicken Kiev with chunky chips.. the food was fabulous, extremely well presented and so very tasty.. i would not hesitate to recommend this Italian restaurant, it's just beside Tynemouth metro station.. you certainly won't be disappointed.. the bill was less than fifty pounds for both of us which included wine..

The Priory
Front St, Tynemouth, North ShieldsIncreasingly my favourite place to go in Tynemouth. Good value, great people, and it's not pretending to be anything it's not. And it serves breakfasts until 3pm so you can have a proper filler and a pint for well under £15, not bad at all!
