Food was presented well with ample portions and plates were nice and hot staff were very friendly and helpful to my mum and myself. Table was nice and clean and comfortable seating. Prompt service. Toilet area was very clean and checked thoroughly.Overall an excellent dining experience

Unit 4 The Courtyard, Lion St, AbergavennyWe went here for our anniversary and it was a surprise for me by my girlfriend. We went for 3-4 small plates as recommended on the menu, plus dessert and we were absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal!
The quality of the food is excellent, with a seasonal menu and the staff are very friendly. Whilst the price is a bit high, the quality, ambiance and location make it worth the money for a special occasion.
Overall, I’d give The Gaff is a solid 9.5/10, losing only half a point for the chicken small plate we had being decent but not incredible. Every other dish was perfect though! If you’re looking for a great small plates restaurant in Abergavenny, look no further!

We’ve been wanting to try this pizza spot out for a while and so glad that it did not disappoint. They serve both New York and Detroit pizza here and we went for a half and half Detroit style. The price was very reasonable and it doesn’t cost you more if you fancy a half and half, which is very considerate for folks who want to try out two different flavours. The pizza was simply the best you could find in South Wales!

15 Nevill St, AbergavennySometimes you have to search to find a gem and with many other coffee shops nearby this isn't the most obvious one on the street. However, go here and not the others. The coffee is excellent and the cakes are in another league. Of particular note was the coffee and pecan cake which is miles better than coffee and walnut, and easily the best coffee based cake I have ever had. The place has a great vibe and pretty little garden to sit in if the weather is nice. Worth visiting Abergavenny for this place alone!

Their chicken shish is amazing - always cooked to perfection and the mixed donner wraps too. Always have found their food delicious. Their homemade garlic sauce is incredible! Garlic bread pizza with cheese is another favourite. They’re open late so many choices and always such fresh and good quality. Attached a picture of a mixed wrap I bought yesterday that I cut in half. Doesn’t it look stunning! A work of art!! Can’t beat that!!

The Angel Hotel, 15 Cross St, AbergavennyFirstly what lovely staff they're a credit to the hotel. My Mum is 86 & finds sometimes she's too low at the table. Before we said anything the man (restaurant manager/head waiter)asked if she would like a cushion so that was very kind. We both had the pork which was lovely, very tasty. I was a little disappointed in the flavour of the small trio of desserts, so I was glad I didn't have a normal portion of any of them. Very unusual for me to not finish a dessert but the mandarin & pistachio Eaton mess tasted like soap to me & my Mum tasted it & thought it wasn't nice too. Choc & cherry very rich & I love Frangipane tart but it was too rich with mincemeat so dessert was a let down but everything else was superb. I would recommend to others.

Starters and main courses were great. Pizza was especially good! The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star was because the garlic pizza bread was rock hard, and there were some fruit flies inside the wine (the waitress was super apologetic and handled it really well) aside from that it’s a great little place. I’d suggest the calimari to start and a pizza for main.

15 Cross St, AbergavennyJust passing through Abergavenny. Decided too stop eat and happened upon The Angel Hotel. So glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing! My husband had the chicken pie and I had the risotto.
It's one of my favourite dishes, and the Angels risotto was one of the best I've ever had. Delicious and perfectly seasoned. My husband enjoyed his pie and loved the fresh chips.
The staff we met briefly were friendly and professional.
We will be back if ever passing that way again 5* experience in a short amount of time ?

Cinnamon Tree understands the subtle range of indian spice flavours. it's not one of those restaurants which kill flavour with chilli in order to sell more beer. Service also good, attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommended. Looking at the many reviews exactly 2 months ago, these seem to be a campaign to undermine this restaurant. I have eaten here several times and the food has always been good. No way it's undercooked! Best Indian in Abergavenny.

The pub is inviting and nicely decorated with a friendly atmosphere, the staff are absolutely lovely, the food was delicious (both meaty and veggie lasagnes were so cheesy with perfect consistency and the side salad was fresh), good prices, spotless toilets (with decent toilet paper - a rarity!), and there's a free car park just a couple of minutes walk away. We'll definitely visit again when passing through. Thank you!

Food is always piping hot and cooked to perfection! 15 years we’ve been coming here, never had any issues. More recently discovered their Salt n Pepper Box! Family loves the veg curry (request without mushrooms) and it’s delicious. Nothing is too much trouble.

I missed Musakka but for my holidays in Greece, I have to wait for 2 months (on 10/10, I will land in Corfu). Thus, I was between visiting Penarth or Abergavenny. The latest won because often the trains to Cardiff can be overcrowded.

Quality of food: Excellent (7*).

Cleanliness: I live in the UK for 14 years. I'm sure that this restaurant could be a candidate for a Nobel Prize in this area. I have never seen so spotless toilets.

Sweet potato/pepper soup was on the menu and it did not disappoint. The cafe is cozy and the service was wonderful (thank you Jo and Hannah!). The Cwtch Cafe lived up to its name and definitely felt like a warm and safe cuddle. I took a slice of cake home for later. I will definitely return during my stay.

We had the scones and pizza which we still talk about, the pizza base was amazing and the tea was perfect. If we weren’t so full we would have tried the cakes which looked incredible. The team are really friendly, efficient and relaxed.

What I was impressed with was the professional way the manager (didn't get her name, sorry!) dealt with a misogynistic boor who was rude and aggressive to my wife, daughter and grandson. The manager gets 5 stars and deserves recognition and thanks.

Kings Arms Hotel
29 Nevill St, AbergavennyThe stay we had was a lovely experience. The food we had from their restaurant was amazing. Real home cooked food. There home made tar tar sauce with there fish and chips was one of the best I ever had. I would also recommend there puddings. Breakfast was also cooked fresh. None of this cook it and leave it on a hot plate. You put your order in and it was cooked fresh. We will definitely be returning as there so much to do in the area.
