Visited on Sunday 21st april.Nice easy access and well lit for my mother who has sight and mobility issues ... excellent disabled parking with a ramp up to the pub. Food was presented well with ample portions and plates were nice and hot staff were very friendly and helpful to my mum and myself. Table was nice and clean and comfortable seating. Prompt service. Toilet area was very clean and checked thoroughly.Overall an excellent dining experience

We went here for our anniversary and it was a surprise for me by my girlfriend. We went for 3-4 small plates as recommended on the menu, plus dessert and we were absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal!

The quality of the food is excellent, with a seasonal menu and the staff are very friendly. Whilst the price is a bit high, the quality, ambiance and location make it worth the money for a special occasion.

Overall, I’d give The Gaff is a solid 9.5/10, losing only half a point for the chicken small plate we had being decent but not incredible. Every other dish was perfect though! If you’re looking for a great small plates restaurant in Abergavenny, look no further!

Just wanted to say went with my family and friends and the young man with the beard was such a lovely lad. (forgot to ask for his name) The food was amazing i have no words to describe it and best restaurant I’ve ever been to. Would definitely recommend. the people and staff are so lovely and friendly. customer service exquisite and the overall design of the restaurant really caught my eye.

Vegetarian options: Every standard curry has its own vegetarian option. This was beautiful to see as my Wife is a vegetarian and can never find a restaurant that accommodates her vegetarian needs.

Parking: There is plenty of parking. I asked a member of staff for anywhere i could park and was directed to a parking facility nearby which was indeed very helpful.

Sometimes you have to search to find a gem and with many other coffee shops nearby this isn't the most obvious one on the street. However, go here and not the others. The coffee is excellent and the cakes are in another league. Of particular note was the coffee and pecan cake which is miles better than coffee and walnut, and easily the best coffee based cake I have ever had. The place has a great vibe and pretty little garden to sit in if the weather is nice. Worth visiting Abergavenny for this place alone!

The best deep dish in Wales!

We’ve been wanting to try this pizza spot out for a while and so glad that it did not disappoint. They serve both New York and Detroit pizza here and we went for a half and half Detroit style. The price was very reasonable and it doesn’t cost you more if you fancy a half and half, which is very considerate for folks who want to try out two different flavours. The pizza was simply the best you could find in South Wales!

Staff are so friendly and know their customers. I usually phone my order through in advance for convenience. Their chicken shish is amazing - always cooked to perfection and the mixed donner wraps too. Always have found their food delicious. Their homemade garlic sauce is incredible! Garlic bread pizza with cheese is another favourite. They’re open late so many choices and always such fresh and good quality. Attached a picture of a mixed wrap I bought yesterday that I cut in half. Doesn’t it look stunning! A work of art!! Can’t beat that!!

Firstly what lovely staff they're a credit to the hotel. My Mum is 86 & finds sometimes she's too low at the table. Before we said anything the man (restaurant manager/head waiter)asked if she would like a cushion so that was very kind. We both had the pork which was lovely, very tasty. I was a little disappointed in the flavour of the small trio of desserts, so I was glad I didn't have a normal portion of any of them. Very unusual for me to not finish a dessert but the mandarin & pistachio Eaton mess tasted like soap to me & my Mum tasted it & thought it wasn't nice too. Choc & cherry very rich & I love Frangipane tart but it was too rich with mincemeat so dessert was a let down but everything else was superb. I would recommend to others.

Good little Italian restaurant in Abergavenny where we went on the last day of our holiday there. Warm welcome and lovely service from the waiting staff. Starters and main courses were great. Pizza was especially good! The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star was because the garlic pizza bread was rock hard, and there were some fruit flies inside the wine (the waitress was super apologetic and handled it really well) aside from that it’s a great little place. I’d suggest the calimari to start and a pizza for main.

We recently visited the Crown for a Sunday lunch whilst on holiday in the area. The food was simply outstanding, everything was so delicious. I had the roast pork whilst the rest of our group had the beef. All the plates went back empty. A special mention is needed for the gravy alone! And the brioche bread and butter pudding g was simply devine. Really friendly service and a lovely atmosphere too. Wish we lived closer so we could visit again! If you’re in the area then it’s definitely worth a visit.

Just passing through Abergavenny. Decided too stop eat and happened upon The Angel Hotel. So glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing! My husband had the chicken pie and I had the risotto.
It's one of my favourite dishes, and the Angels risotto was one of the best I've ever had. Delicious and perfectly seasoned. My husband enjoyed his pie and loved the fresh chips.
The staff we met briefly were friendly and professional.
We will be back if ever passing that way again 5* experience in a short amount of time ?

We had Bengal fish yesterday and it was as good as I had in Kolkata. Other dishes were excellent too. Cinnamon Tree understands the subtle range of indian spice flavours. it's not one of those restaurants which kill flavour with chilli in order to sell more beer. Service also good, attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommended. Looking at the many reviews exactly 2 months ago, these seem to be a campaign to undermine this restaurant. I have eaten here several times and the food has always been good. No way it's undercooked! Best Indian in Abergavenny.

Just had a wonderful breakfast and experience this morning. The breakfast was well cooked and delicious.\nAsheigh the waitress was working her socks off, as restaurant was very busy. She still had time to make everyone feel welcomed and looked after. She filled empty buffet items , cleared/cleaned tables, sorted coffee machine, served cooked breakfasts, swept floors under tables and never stopped. The restaurant was really busy this morning, unlike last night which was a completely different experience to our dinner there last night, which was awful.\nAshleigh is worth her weight in gold, look after her and thank you

Popping in here for lunch after Green Man festival was definitely the right choice! The pub is inviting and nicely decorated with a friendly atmosphere, the staff are absolutely lovely, the food was delicious (both meaty and veggie lasagnes were so cheesy with perfect consistency and the side salad was fresh), good prices, spotless toilets (with decent toilet paper - a rarity!), and there's a free car park just a couple of minutes walk away. We'll definitely visit again when passing through. Thank you!

Outstanding food and service (and always has been). His smile gets me every time, what a nice guy, i have never seen him unhappy!! Food is always piping hot and cooked to perfection! 15 years we’ve been coming here, never had any issues. More recently discovered their Salt n Pepper Box! Family loves the veg curry (request without mushrooms) and it’s delicious. Nothing is too much trouble.

Concept: After a relaxing Friday off in Newport, and an amazing/adventurous Saturday in Lydney, I was thinking to close this week with a very nice meal. I missed Musakka but for my holidays in Greece, I have to wait for 2 months (on 10/10, I will land in Corfu). Thus, I was between visiting Penarth or Abergavenny. The latest won because often the trains to Cardiff can be overcrowded.
Timing of visit: Sunday 17/08, 15:45-16:45.
Order: Hummus and meat musakka.
Price: £28.49.
Quality of food: Excellent (7*).
Method of payment: Debit card.
Cleanliness: I live in the UK for 14 years. I'm sure that this restaurant could be a candidate for a Nobel Prize in this area. I have never seen so spotless toilets.
Staff: Attentive (6*).
Atmosphere: Relaxing (5*).

This is a great cafe and shop with an outstanding ethos. Started by two families who wanted to do something about climate change, it stocks an amazing range of eco-friendly products, offers a refill service, and provides tasty food and superb coffee.

The staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is uber-cosy.

Best burger I've had in a while! Added bacon (proper butchers style), cheese (not the usual plastic stuff in most pubs), Stilton, and a gorgeous runny fried egg! Crispy naughty chips and onion rings. Lovely cheesy nachos and dips. Then to finish, a apple and blackberry crumble with ice cream, a classic but done well.

Visited Abergavenny for a day and came across this wonderful cafe. The owner Claire was so lovely and welcoming. There is such a nice selection of food and drinks. We had the scones and pizza which we still talk about, the pizza base was amazing and the tea was perfect. If we weren’t so full we would have tried the cakes which looked incredible. The locals were so nice to chat to and the cafe is so cosy, already planning our return and cannot wait to come here again! Thank you so much Claire for such a lovely time.

Had a treat, or two, after parkrun. Avocado, bacon and egg bap, sausage bap, cakes and coffee. Everything was spot on, absolutely delicious. Came again on Sunday morning ; ham and cheese croissant and a cheese and chive scone, tea, coffee and orange juice. This place is SUPERB, thank you. Oh and compared to Surrey the prices are unbelievable ?
