The Rose & Crown
Graianrhyd Rd, MoldWe visited the Rose and Crown today and it reminded us exactly why this traditional local pub deserves every bit of praise it gets. The food was excellent for both adults and children — generous portions, freshly cooked, and full of flavour. Everything came out hot and well presented, and it’s clear the kitchen takes real pride in what they serve.
The drinks were just as impressive. They continue to roll out top‑quality real ales, properly kept and poured, which is becoming a rare thing these days. It’s the kind of pub where you can trust the pint in your hand every time.
The atmosphere is spot on. A simple, comfortable, welcoming pub with friendly service and a relaxed feel. The roaring log fire is a real highlight — perfect for warming through after a long walk or a cold ride.
It’s ideally placed for cyclists and mountain walkers, making it a brilliant stop‑off point on local routes. Whether you’re out exploring or just fancy a cosy afternoon, it’s a great place to settle in.
They only serve food on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 to 5:30pm, but it’s absolutely worth planning around. If you’re in the area and want great food, great ales, and genuinely warm service, the Rose and Crown is well worth a visit.
They do now and have done taken electronic payments for the last few years, they always have at least 3 real ales on tap at any time. They also serve old fashioned filled bread rolls at the bar during the week. So cater for everyone. Plenty of crisps and chocolate for the active people.
