Lake Country House Hotel & Spa
Llangammarch Wells, Builth, PowysI booked a spa morning with some friends. It didnt disappoint..the pool, hot tub and view was amazing. The treatment we had was lovely, really relaxing. They were short staffed so we had abit of a wait for our lunch, but staff was apologetic. Its well worth a visit if your in need of a pamper.

Black Lion Inn
Derwenlas, MachynllethWe came here to celebrate a birthday and a wedding anniversary. As soon as we had arrived we were seated in front of a lovely warm fire. Our drinks order was taken and wasn’t long at our table. As we had already pre ordered our meal as there was 14 of us, our food wasn’t long on our tables. It was hot, very tasty and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Our starters were varied and we all loved what we had. Pate very tasty with warm bread and served with a delicious onion chutney. \nPrawn cocktail looked great with a generous amount of prawns. \nMains were varied from Lasagne, mixed grill - steak and gammon. All cooked to everybody’s preference and plenty of it. Each one of us said we would be back. Atmosphere was pleasant and friendly with Christmas decorations making the place looked seasonal and homely. \nThankyou very much to the chefs, and staff for making us feel at home and making our night very special

Ynyshir Restaurant and Rooms
Ynyshir Restaurant and Rooms, Eglwys Fach, MachynllethWow.\nThis is not a restaurant with rooms — it is a fully committed experience. A culinary journey. A sensory endurance test, in the best possible way.\n\nThis is not for the faint-hearted, and if fish isn’t your thing, turn back now and save yourself the emotional distress. For everyone else, buckle up.\n\nThe much-talked-about 30+ courses should not deter you. Remarkably, they don’t overwhelm; instead, they pace you. Your senses are constantly engaged — taste, smell, texture — and by the end, you’ll feel oddly grateful rather than defeated.\n\nExpect the unexpected:\nfur coats, fire, ice, rare coffee beans, sake, wine… and yes, even a chef’s bite-sized interpretation of a Big Mac that will quietly rearrange your understanding of food. The list genuinely goes on.\n\nAnd just when you think you’ve reached your limit…\n\nBreakfast the next morning.\nSomehow, miraculously, you will still have room. (Science may never explain this.)\n\nThis is not somewhere you visit weekly. It’s built for moments — for memories. It demands time, attention, and investment, and it repays all three in full.\n\nYnyshir is exceptional. Absolutely worth

Drovers
New Row, Howey, Llandrindod WellsI really enjoyed supper at this local restaurant. The Thai flavours were all beautifully balanced. I had thai spring rolls for starter and panang curry with noodles. The curry was delicious coconut milk kaffir lime leaves , galangal, lemongrass and many other ingredients came together to make a really tasty dish. All washed down with thai lager. Ked the lovely lady who served us is owner waitress and chef and so we had her full attention. It was busy but we never felt neglected. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed ambience . We are lucky to have such a restaurant locally and food that is cooked with love. We are already planning another visit.

Cross Keys Dinas Powis
Elm Grove Rd, Dinas PowysAn Absolutely Perfect Sunday Roast! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a truly wonderful experience enjoying the Lamb Sunday roast, and honestly, every single element was perfection. The lamb was cooked beautifully, and all the vegetables were done to perfection. The Yorkshire puddings were magnificent and full of flavor, as were the roast potatoes, crispy on the outside and fluffy within.
Beyond the incredible food, the staff were amazing – so friendly and attentive, making it a genuinely family-friendly atmosphere. We felt so welcome and comfortable.
This is undoubtedly one of the best Sunday roasts we've had. Highly, highly recommend!
