Decent rooms, an interesting building, and staff were great. The drinks were very cheap, always handy.Just a note, parking is in the public car park behind the hotel, paid via an app on your phone (see photo).Nearby activities: Stayed here after an annual Christmas walk in the hills around Ruthin.
Wasn’t planned visit and only spent an evening in Ruthin. Price for two for one night was the most reasonable we found. We unexpectedly travelled up to Ruthin from South Devon and booked the Castle an hour before arrival. The town and area is great, the look of the Castle Hotel is impressive. Rooms great, mixed grill for dinner was great. Staff, super nice, hard working and relaxed. Breakfast was all you would need to start the day off right. thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Typical Wetherspoons, decent food and drinks for the price - nothing earth shattering. Staff could be more attentive in their service and proactive in ensuring tables are quickly cleaned and emptied, as on various visits we have had to clean tables ourselves and remove previous diners wares.
