Went there last night with friends for drinks and a meal. It was our first time here as our local is The Red Lion…but the service there has become painfully slow. Anyway, our first time here at The Mount Pleasant and we loved it! There were 2 real ales on the bar…Green King IPA & St Austell Tribute…Abbot Ale would have usually been on as well by the looks of it. Booked a table early evening for a family gathering. Ordered food using the Mount Pleasant app. Discovered that there was almost no vegetarian options available. This was early on a Saturday evening. Managed to patch something together from sides etc. Not very good management.The non veggie food was lovely, the service was good, food arrived together in good time, a pleasant experience.Just spoilt by the lack of vegetarian options available on the night. Their hangover Mac and cheese is to die for! We have become rather obsessed by it. A perfect blend of mac, bacon, hash brown, hot sauce and tomato to cut through the richness. This place is warm and cosy with a good amount of Christmas cheer. It is also incredibly good value and the staff are polite and efficient.
