We've been to Bangla Lounge on a number of occasions & always had good meals, although the service has always been a bit hit & miss. The staff have always been friendly. On this occasion the service was acceptable. They always give you a complimentary drink, usually a Baileys or whiskey, which is appreciated, but, I do think they should ask you, especially if you're driving. There was an Elvis tribute act on the night we went, but we weren't told this when booking was made.We probably wouldn't have gone if we'd known.It meant we couldn't talk amongst ourselves much. We also couldn't hear the waiter very well.I got a starter I didn't order, but it was ok so I took it.The rest of the meal was pleasant.The beer we ordered wasn't chilled.The bill was well above what we expected, but we did get £40+ off when we queried it. This still has to be one of the top indian restaurants in the Midlands. Great range of meals to select from, especially for non-meat eaters as they will use Quorn.
