Nick's Sandwich Bar
Birmingham Rd, Rednal, BirminghamGreat little roadside cafe. No indoor seating but a great, crazy, outdoor area. Keep an eye open for the monkeys!
Good simple food at great prices, served by friendly staff.

Frankie & Benny's
Great Park, The Parkway, BirminghamI had a Groupon voucher as a Xmas gift. 2 courses + drink for 2...£22. Tbh, after reading the reviews i wasn't looking forward to it much, so i was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was lovely. The food was lovely. It was lunchtime so relatively quiet.
Only problem with the pasta was that it wasn't very warm and after a couple of mouthfuls I realised it would be cold before I'd finished eating.
The waitress offered to reheat it for me and it was much better when it came back out the second time.
I had chicken piccante, followed by apple & blueberry pie with ice cream and custard.
Its not the sort of place I would normally choose to eat at and the prices are very high without a voucher/offer...but if you do have a voucher, dont be put off by bad reviews.

Greggs
10 Arden Rd, Rednal, Rubery, BirminghamI have to say this place is a little gem. There may not be the items you want - sausage rolls are the most popular - but I popped in on Friday on the off change for some lunch .... 4 sausages rolls and two baguettes - came to less than £4

Premier Inn Birmingham South (Rubery) hotel
Great Park, Ashbrook Dr, Rubery, BirminghamJust spent 2 nights here as a base for day 1 of Cheltenham Festival & access to the M5 - a hotel we've used previously.
No issues with our room & a comfy bed.
Free parking & friendly staff.
Tea, coffee & milk supplies left out in reception.
We've never bothered with food in the pub next door as within walking distance there's a few alternatives - Frankie & Bennies, Morrisons cafe and then 10 mins walk down the road theres a McDonalds & Himalayan Indian restaurant.

the village kitchen Rubery
New Rd, Rubery, BirminghamJust had a breakfast with my mom here at the Village Kitchen and it was brilliant. I had a medium breakfast and it was fantastic, delicious ingredients, well cooked and served by lovely hardworking staff. The 2 girls serving were rushed off their feet and myself and my mom appreciated their hard work.
Thank you
