The Old Stables
Fontwell Park, Fontwell, Fontwell Ave, ArundelWe were served by Connie ,a very lovely and customer attentive server/waitress.
She is constantly scanning the room and therefore aware of any situation or a customers needs premptively.
Connie is a credit to the hospitality industry and I am surprised that she hasn't been headhunted .
We will return next Goodwood revival or FOS and hope that she will still be here .
Well done to Connie and thank you to the team that train her ,.
Finally,well done to the chef and his team , perfect food during our 3 night stay.

We called and booked a table and recieved a very warm welcome when we arrived. It was hard to choose what to have as the menu looked so good. Our food was absolutely delicious - the chef even made us a peppercorn sauce which wasn't on the menu. The service was first class - warm, efficient and friendly. Would absolutely recommend this gem of a place. Thank you for a lovely meal!

We had a side of portobello mushrooms and green veg which was also cooked bang on. Service was great - friendly and polite, attentive but didn’t interrupt at inappropriate moments. We been previously for breakfast which we can also really recommend. Lovely atmosphere and all round great evening. We will be back again.

The staff are fantastic and are one of the main reasons we go. They know the dishes inside out, have worked there for years, love what they do and enjoy a good banter. The restaurant has a really lovely feel to it but let's talk about the food. The food is on another level. The options on the menu are always amazing with even more things to choose from on the specials board. Each course is just the right amount of food. (Thankfully not too much that you can't fit in another course if you wanted to and believe me, you'll want to.) There are options for gluten free, vegetarian and other requirements and the staff are always happy to assist in any way they can. The presentation is always impeccable and the taste incredible. Every mouthful has us oohing and arhing. This is by far our favourite restaurant and if you haven't tried this place, you simply must. You will not be disappointed.

Served with a smile, for free ? - and plenty of veggie options.

Gets very busy with bikes in nice weather.
Update 24/4/25 it's now free to park for the moment the lease on the cafe is not being renewed by the Norfolk estate so in October the ownership will change hands it's rumoured that an upmarket cafe with indoor seating is planned .
Not sure of the plans for the old cafe the car parking will be pay and display I believe.
The changes are also to deter motorbikes due to many complaints of antisocial riding and noise, this place has been a destination for motorbikes for many years but all this will be lost in October

The Holly Tree
Hollytree Cottage, The St, Walberton, ArundelGave this place a try around 6pm on a Sunday after having no clue where to go and having made my decision by searching the local area and reading previous reviews; and I'm so glad I did. They held on for me before closing the kitchen and it really was a gem of a find in a lovely village. The place was just brilliant and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. I dined in the restaurant area, which was very nicely done and clean.
Being a Sunday and the early evening, I was expecting only roast dinners and for them to be sold out, but in fact they had a wide choice of food and were still able to cater for roast dinners, including specific dietary requirements, which was nice to see.
It was such a nice change to find somewhere that was not only decent, but really exceeded expectations. I decided to have a roast in the end and went with the turkey breast and it was one of the nicest roasts I've had, followed by a chocolate brownie and ice cream, which with the biscuit crumb on the side too, was also really nice.
I would definitely recommend The Holly Tree to anyone and will be back again with friends and family in the near future, hopefully with the sun shining to enjoy the lovely garden and outdoor seating they have there too.

Amberley Museum
New Barn Rd, Amberley, ArundelI cannot praise this museum and the staff/ volunteers enough. There was loads to do with my 3 children and Grandparent.
We loved having a go at the print shop, moved onto having a go at wood turning where everyone of my children including my DD with Downs Syndrome had a go. Off for a little lunch and straight to the pottery where they all made what they wanted. Finished the day on the train! There was truly too much to do in one day and already my girls are asking when we can go again..
