“Great pub, excellent staff. My daughter and I had the Tich burger. For me it was pure joy but my daughter is not the cheese smothering, especially as quite peppery and had a little heat guessing sweet chilli but I could be wrong. My wife had battered cod and chips, she said it was the best she has had in years. Two out of three satisfied customers.Don't get me wrong the quality of the food was outstanding. Our daughter is not a sauce, garnish or a big fish lover. It's a shame they did not have a plain steak or burger option.”

“WowWe went for the tasting menu and music night and simply stunning. The food was superb. The music was fantastic and the volume was at the right level so it was audible but not loud so you couldn't hear yourselves speak. The service was really top drawer. We had Louise hosting our table and she was attentive to detail, took the time to explain the dishes to us and focused on when glasses needing filling, bringing water to the table and was generally very helpful.Highly recommend it.”

“Lovely old pub by the canal.Despite it being a very busy lunch period both Rachel and Rob managed the workload with humour and without looking flustered. The fish platter was good though the salmon steak was a little over done whilst the beef ribs platter was really yummy.Good choice of ales/ wine , a great place to spend a few hours!Parking: Parking by pub”

“Had the mixed grill which was absolutely delicious I can still taste it. Very friendly bar staff especially Joan who made us feel very welcome. Wines fresh and kept at correct temperature and very reasonably priced compared to others. Great bunch of locals who were very friendly. Going to try their Sunday roasts which I hear are sumptuous.”

“Just returned from a 1 night stay on the campsite and had a great time. Very warm welcome from the landlord on arrival and showed us to our pitch for the night. Had a fantastic meal in the evening and staff friendly and good service. Food portions and quality were excellent. Pub has real character and oldie world charm. Campsite has everything you need for a couple of nights stay, showers, toilets, washing up areas etc, all kept clean and usable. Would have no issues with recommending and will return when we get the chance in future.”
