Tea on the Green

Bolton Abbey, Skipton

Nice tea rooms cafe near to Bolton Abbey car park. Good choice of food on menu including gluten free offerings..
Whilst there's only a couple of seats outside the front of the cafe, there's a lovely cosy courtyard garden through the cafe in the rear.
Dog friendly in and out.

Absolutely loved this place. Very quaint and cute but with a modern touch and calming ambience. Lovely staff and delicious food. I had a scone and the cheese sandwich which were both amazing.

We visited Sunday 8th March 2026 and used this as a starting point to walk along the river to the Abbey and back. We stopped in the tea rooms for lunch afterwards and although it was busy we didn't have to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table to become available. The two staff working front of house were fantastic and coped incredibly well with a busy cafe. The food was fabulous and the portion sizes were huge. Couldn't have rounded off our weekend off in a better way ? would definitely recommend!

Route 59 Cafe

A59, Skipton

I attended for the first time in the morning of Sunday 29th March on my motorbike ? to meet up with other motorcyclists for a charity Easter Egg run to a hospital ? situated approx 15 miles away.
The weather deteriorated rapidly with high winds & heavy rain which kept the numbers down to 20 bikes ?.
When I arrived at the cafe at 9.30am the staff ( two lovely ladies called Audrey & Jackie ), were in the process of opening up. Unfortunately all the power went down in the local area for half an hour or so,which prevented the ladies from being able to initially use the kitchen appliances. Fortunately the kettle had just boiled so I was able to have a nice cuppa.
When the power was restored I enjoyed a lovely full English breaky & more biker's arrived.
Both Audrey & Jackie had a good sense of humour & were pleasant & chatty throughout.
A further young lass ( Ruby ) joined the two ladies to help out. ( I think it was her 1st ever shift ).
In my opinion Route 59 cafe is a small, but cosy biker's type stop & is worth a visit if in the vicinity.
Cheers ?

A varied menu. Food was very good but not exceptional. Service was very good by older members of staff but the younger staff were not well trained and were unable to answer basic questions about the dishes on the menu

Staff are great, grub is OK, usually very hot in there especially in the summer. Grub is expensive £15 for two coffees, scone and cake. Oh yeah, if sitting outside, keep an eye on your food since the birds will help themselves!
