64 Huddersfield Rd, EllandAfter bouncing around mutlipul sandwich shops I have finnaly found a GEM, the buttys are very consistent and the staff are well mannered and helpful, if you want a nice sandwich this is the place...... Best around by far and definitely in Elland ??

162 Westgate, EllandLovely cheeky Yorkshire lassies serve and entertain! cooked to order fish, chips & Chinese curry sauce my favourite since trying it after the normal curry sauce ran out! Peas so good as well!

18 Victoria Rd, EllandOne of our go to places if we are feeling like a takeaway.Always decent food and the staff are genuinly nice people.They do a decent pizza too and their prices are very reasonable.Its been under the same ownership for as long as I can remember, decades. That tells you something in itself.

Southgate, EllandEverything you want from a local boozer. Basic outdoor sitting, standard drinks available, games room, facilities, live music . Friendly lairy ( it was Saturday night) plenty of sitting and most willing to party into night . Would go again.

Southgate, EllandWow what can I say it's about the best place in elland for the community spirit nice and relaxed inside but also got a great beer garden which when the sun shines its the place to be pets included always water on tap for them all in all it gets a 5 star from meKid-friendliness: Parking a bit awkward,kids need to be out for 7 which I agree as it's not an eating placeWheelchair accessibility: The landlord has gone out of his way to make a ramp to gain access to the pub

7A Town Hall St, EllandAbsolutely outstanding! First time ordering here and they smashed it out of the park. A couple of our regular curry houses had gone downhill and we'd tried a few places trying to find a new gem - all were pretty average in all honesty. Akhtars was recommended to us by a friend who'd previously recommended our current favourite kebab house. Ordered a peshwari tikka - creamy but with a kick, just my style. My wife ordered desi lamb, rich and spicy. Great spice blend, tender meat. Keema rice was excellent, prawn puri was perfect and the garlic naan, although slightly burnt, we quite like that charred flavour so not a negative there either. The mushroom pakoras didn't travel well but you e got to expect that. They were very tasty and a decent size portion. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Just sad that we're now on our January diet because I'd order from here twice a week! Really pleased we've found a new regular. No idea how much it cost, but after tasting the food, I don't really care. Awesome food and it arrived 25 minutes earlier than expected. I don't give out 5* very often, but this place would've got a 7*. Needless to say, we'll be ordering again. ??????????

Coeliacs Corner
4 Ridge View, EllandHey,Was looking for some Coeliac stuff to bake a cake for a friend and not kill them. The guys on the stall were helpful and had everything I needed there. They even offered to bake the cake for me so I could pick it up next week, which on reflection would have saved me hours tidying up the kitchen.

Spring Gardens Takeaway
90 Elland Ln, EllandI've used Spring Gardens Takeaway for over 20 years and have always had wonderful curries. My favourite is chicken and spinach with chapatis and rice. The kids love to have kebabs and pizza. The food is always provided hot and on time. The staff are always polite and helpful. A totally top place and well recommended. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

7 Briggate, EllandI've never been to this Takeaway before but I'll definitely be going again!! There's some very good Asian food sellers locally but this one has to be in my personal Top 10.
I just wanted a bit of a bigger snack on the way home, came across this quite small shop so went in. De.....lic....ious!! !! Many thanks from a new convert ! The fish is to die for, red hot and crispy ? ? ? xx

Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurants and Takeaway
90-92 Southgate, EllandJust exploring Chinatown and saw the cocktail sign. I love legacy small businesses and decided to check it out. It was around 3:00 in the afternoon and was very quaint and quiet. You could tell there's a lot of history here. I asked the bartender how long they've been in business. 60 years! I'd love to come back and have another quiet cocktail.

71 Southgate, EllandThe best Pizza & Cheesy chips in hakifax by a mile, no exception. I have been to dozens of takeaways and pretty much exhausted just eat and nobody comes close. 75 Catherine St, EllandI have just had a takeaway from these guys. Yes it has been taken over. The food was good before but o my good this was the best food ever. I eat out alot and this is so much better. If you guys have not tried it then give it ago. People who know me knows I want good food for good money. Please keep this one going cos this is good that's my opinion any way.

Brighouse Rd, Elland, HuddersfieldWhat a great atmosphere, fro the the moment you step in the front door the staff are very attentive, I’m a full time wheelchair user we hadn’t booked, but they moved the dining queue barriers around so I had full access to the carvery.\n\nI choose the large platter, just a few quid more but worth it.\nI had pork, gammon and turkey, none of them were dry, still nice and moist and at the end of the line were all the accoutrements to add to you plate, the gravy very very nice I filled up one of my Yorkshire puddings with it.\n\nA great range of vegetables to go for, I really enjoyed the roast potatoes in dripping.\n\nThe staff are very very friendly, carried my food to my table, I went with my elderly parents and the staff couldn’t do enough for them either.\n\nWould I go back, will I go back most definitely. Do yourself a favour and down load the Toby Carvery App, it saved us 25% today.\n\nSo a huge thank you to all the staff, we will see you soon

Well Wendy's chip shop is one of my top 2 chip shops in W, Yorkshire,, on part with Brackenbred chippy.. if you love old school real English. Fish an chips it's a winner ???... As not many left . Keep it going ?.

With buy one get one free, yellow labels & some brilliant meat deals for my friend I spent around £100 but must have walked out with about £140 worth!!
A slight issue was some kids in the shop who thought it was OK to fly round on scooters !! I played hell with them & when the ringleader actually said 'what's it got to do with you??' If he'd been mine I'd have flattened him & grounded him for a month at least. Sadly we're not allowed to chastise rude / naughty kids these days & no, I'm a mum and would never dream of mistreating any child but no manners at all ? Not happening in my world & this was agreed by several passers by who saw this going on:-))
Thanks to the lovely security guard who said kids can be a problem but looked pleased to get a bit of passing support. Pensioner Power rules ?
Fabulous, helpful staff which was a godsend as these talking tills when you've got arthritis in your hands and struggling.........c'est la vie !! Definitely 1 to revisit but a bit earlier preferably when the teens are still in school ?
