We had a stop at the Tea Rooms in Aldermaston along the canal after a walk.I had a lovely piece of cake which was very tasty and moist and a cup of tea.The staff were very friendly and helpful!I would recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Kind service, lovely location and atmosphere. Very reasonable price for cream tea too. I just wish there was a (more pricey) option for leaf tea and warm scones, possibly brushed with egg wash on top before the initial baking: these would also contribute to giving them a bit more color.

This tiny place has really upped its game under new management. All dietary needs are catered for and the cakes are a particular highlight. The menu is not extensive but everything is good. Even dogs have their own ice cream! Avoid the former Rosebourne, now ruined by Hilliers, and eat here instead. You won't regret it!
