We’d seen posts from The Big Lock on Facebook and decided to try it for Sunday lunch. I messaged to book a table and had a reply very quickly. When we arrived we entered through the door from the canal path and thought we’d made a mistake - a cafe! The pub is upstairs. Access was from the road side. We were made most welcome and the staff were polite and attentive. We were able to enjoy a leisurely family reunion without feeling rushed. There was a small issue over one of the selections, which I should have mentioned at the time, but this was pleasantly resolved at the end.

December 2023

Second year running coming for Christmas dinner and we eat here regularly though and it’s always lovely food and great service. The staff today worked so hard to make Christmas Day special and it’s very appreciated!
